"This is not your typical full service restaurant. However they have some of the best guisados! Their barbacoa is juicy, made with a little fat. I’m sure you can ask for lean, but I don’t. I’m on many times I come across unseasoned barbacoa. Which is weird considering it’s not a lot of seasonings used. A little dash of salt goes a long way. But here, Don Pedro’s had the best barbacoa I have ever had. Juicy? Seasoned perfectly, and well priced. My bf said initially the deshebrada looked dry. He was wrong. It was juicy and flavorful. I haven’t had a guisado that I didn’t like. Oh the pernsado ! I had never had that. I did a quick Google search before I ordered and saw it was up my alley. Chicarrones and pork carnitas or loin stewed in a salsa roja, pressed into a block once cooled . Then sliced and fried up for your tacos y Plato’s. The texture is like a slightly chewy ground beef. OMG! Just got the asada de puerco. Yum!"
