"Ordered 11/19/23. First time trying. Good things first, the cheddar jalapeno sausage has good flavor, and nice snap. Baked beans great! The brisket was moist but lacked flavor. The potato salad had no flavor whatsoever, 2/10 and I feel for a total of $25 dollars the portions are small. The plate comes with onion/pickle/white bread BBQ staples. Overall I would not go back based on initial taste."
"I visited Houston Barbeque Company yesterday with my partner and we had an amazing experience. We were craving some chopped and sliced brisket sandwiches that didn’t cost an arm and a leg, and we got exactly that. The brisket sandwiches were the perfect amount of tender and juicy, and barely had any fat on our slices (which we love). We also got fries and fried okra as our sides, and the fried okra was incredible. It was so crispy, flavorful, and fried to perfection. We also tried their two different BBQ sauces, one regular and the other a creamy BBQ sauce with a little bit of heat, and both were so good. My partner got a root beer and I got a classic sweet tea. I was a bit nervous about ordering the sweet tea because not all sweet teas are made the same in the state of Texas, but my goodness, the sweet tea was sweetened to perfection. We also snagged a fruity pebble rice krispy and a macadamia white chocolate cookie at the register, and they were both so delicious. I would like to highlight the incredibly kind, patient, and nice staff members that checked us out. They made our experience even better. Overall, Houston Barbeque Company satisfied our cravings and we are so thankful for that. We will definitely be going back and will recommend this to any and every friend in the area looking for a quick BBQ fix! I would rate this restaurant 10/10."
"The food here is average at best. I think it's somewhat expensive but then I'm not really sure since I didn't get a chance to get my finalized receipt. The lady taking my money had no problem navigating me through the tip screen but then as I'm trying to put in my email address she said do you want a receipt? thinking I didn't want to receipt and I was going to get one via email, as I was entering it on the screen, I said no and she closed out the transaction I said I was putting in my email address she shrugged. To say the service here was underwhelming it's just an understatement. The worst part is they weren't really busy! Just take out. I ordered ribs I thought they were average at best. No sauce on the side is promised. Baked potato is okay but who can mess up a baked potato? Mac cheese was somewhat tasteless."
"I had a late lunch here, around 4 pm. I was the only one dining in but did notice a lot of pick-ups. I ordered the regular sausage and brisket with potato salad and baked beans. I love sausage, but this one was disappointing. It was dry, nothing special to it. The brisket was average. The areas with fat were the juiciest/ most flavorful. The potato salad was different, I couldn't put my finger on it, but it had a specific taste. The baked beans I didn't care for. One of their BBQ sauces (light red) was amazing. I really enjoyed it. The staff was very helpful, I give them an A+ on customer service. I'd give it another shot."
"I did a pick up order for a brisket sandwhich, and a turkey sandwhich. Thr turkey sandwhich was for me and the flavor was not really bbqed or smoked in any way. The presentation was wonderful. The chopped brisket sandwhich was for my husband who loves bbq,and he mentioned it was better than the last time he tried this place, but did not give the bbq experience. Over all I will try again maybe dine in instead could be better vs to go. Cute shop and fast service."
