"We stopped by Moxies for dinner and we were very impressed! We sat on the patio which was nice to do in February on a rare 80 degree day. The music was on point and our server Tori had great recommendations. We ordered steak bites, cashew chicken lettuce wraps and blackened shrimp tacos and the food was very flavorful. The cocktails were delicious. My favorite was the pineapple basil margarita. The manager even popped over to check on us. She was a delight. We also got the key lime pie which was the perfect ending to a great meal. 10/10 would recommend. Thank you!"
"UPDATE: Really excited to be able to update my review for Moxies. I want to give a shout out to their manager, Jasmine, who reached out immediately after I posted my last review in order to make things right. I had a strong feeling that if I came back it would be a much better experience and they did not disappoint. I made reservations, again, and my husband and I were seated in the bar area as soon as we arrived. Our server was great, offering wonderful drink and food recommendations. We ordered the brussels sprouts and dumplings for appetizer because I have to try the brussels sprouts every where I go. I wasn't particular smitten with them, but my husband and I really enjoyed the potstickers. For our main course I got the Avocado and Bacon salad with the Scottish salmon and my husband got the Blackened Mahi Mahi. We both really enjoyed our meals! I highly recommend the Kentucky River old fashioned for anyone who enjoys a good old fashioned. The ambiance here is perfect for a date night and we will definitely be back! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I was looking for a place in the Plano area to have a lunch with a friend and I was excited about this place based on the reviews and menu, but my first visit was underwhelming and it was all around the service. Having never been to the restaurant before I decided to make a 1pm lunch reservation for my friend and me. I got there about 10 mins early and there was no one at the host stand. I waited patiently and looked around the restaurant to see if I could catch anyone's eye to come over and seat me. I didn't see many people in the main sitting area and it looked like most people were sitting at the bar. I also only saw one person going back and forth from tables to the kitchen and didn't want to bother him so I continued to wait for my friend at the host stand and see if anyone came to seat me. After 10 minutes I started to look and see if perhaps I missed some signage indicating that I needed to seat myself, but I didn't see anything. After 17 minutes of standing my friend arrived and we decided to just go to the bar and seat ourselves. Candidly, we considered leaving but she was on a tight schedule and I didn't know what timing would look like if we went to another restaurant. Once we sat down we were greeted by Ron who was friendly, attentive and offered great suggestions. I had the Cashew Chicken Lettuce Wraps for the entree and I loved them! Perfect flavor so I didn't even try the spicy mayo sauce with them. My friend decided on the The Cheeseburger which she said was really good. I loved the ambiance inside and in perusing their menu it appears they have some really unique and tasty sounding drinks, which I may come back and try during one of their Happy Hours. I will definitely try this place again and see if I'm able to provide a better review but, word to the managers, if you're not going to have a greeter at the host stand, it doesn't cost you much time and money to put up a sign for guests to seat themselves instead of them standing around wondering what is the appropriate thing to do. I've been at plenty of other restaurants who partake in that option and it makes for a much better overall experience."
"Elena took really good care of us today. She gave us honest opinions about our menu and gave us quick service. She was very thoughtful and kind!"
"Based on all the good reviews, I wonder if I caught them on an off day. The food was very mediocre to me; not one thing had a wow factor. The pot stickers were way too salty (think too much soy sauce), the Brussel sprouts were super salty and a bit overcooked, the cheese nachos were dry and bland (good portion, though), and the ramen was returned. I was so disappointed I didn’t even try dessert and I always get dessert. On the flip side, the atmosphere and service was good. The food just needs some work."
"Great atmosphere. Our waiter was Taylor and he did an outstanding job. He had given us great recommendations on the menu and he was very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was really good. The steak bites are a good appetizer to have. We ordered all the deserts and they tasted great. We will be back."
