"A pair of Timberland shoes were offered for $79 on sale with a red and white tag. The cashier rung them up for $119 and said "I don't know this is on sale..." and then took $10 off when I raised the point. I took them because I needed shoes. I'm not happy though that they upcharged $40."

She admitted she didn't have the time to fully explain but otherwise told me I had a year to return over $100 worth of merchandise. I will be buying my shoes from somewhere else in the future.
