Reviews
"This place used to be the highlight of my weekends for years. Now, there is a new ownership and new non-asian employees. HORRIBLE drinks, smell, and ambiance. How do you mess up avocado smoothies? It's a smoothie man... Don't see anymore asian people around, seems others feel the same. New owners completely ruined an amazing Vietnamese shop. Got me mourning like an old friend died man.."
"I am sharing this review with great disappointment. I have been coming to Bambu regularly ever since I was a kid. They consistently had great tea with great customer service, and it was a very special place to me. However, after visiting recently, I can no longer recommend this place anymore. It seems as if the new owners have forgotten who their core customers are. Tea was watery and tasteless, and they've simultaneously raised the prices and changed the sizes. I understand that inflation has been hard on all of us, but if you need to raise prices more, raise them more. Do not undercut your customers by filling their glasses with half ice. The service was also incredibly slow, and the person manning the counter was also frazzled having to manage giving and taking orders, especially because it was a weekend. Why they decided to only have one person at the front is genuinely incomprehensible to me. My advice to the new owners: hire more people, make sure your tea is better quality, and bring back the original sizes. Other than that, I can say that this store has truly lost its soul. No matter how many memories of this place I have, I cannot justify patronizing a business that has no pride in the quality of its product, especially when there are so many other stores now."
"I have been here multiple times. Every time I visit the empty cups, every table seems like they don't clean up. I love all their drink. The interior is nice, but they need to maintain cleanliness, in my opinion. Okey, this is the updated review I visited the place, and it was spotless. The lady in the front was so polite"
"During my visit to Austin, I had the pleasure of trying out Bambu, a Vietnamese restaurant known for their halo-halo. Being a Filipino, I couldn't resist the temptation to give it a try. Fortunately, Bambu didn't disappoint. The first thing that struck me about their halo-halo was its perfect balance of sweetness. It wasn't overly sugary, allowing the flavors of the ingredients to shine through. The generous amount of filling was another highlight. I particularly enjoyed the inclusion of coconut meat, which added a delightful tropical twist to the dessert. However, I did find that there were a bit too many red beans in the halo-halo. While some may enjoy the abundance of red beans, I personally prefer a more varied mix of ingredients. Nonetheless, the overall experience was satisfying and reminded me of the halo-halo I grew up with. Aside from their halo-halo, Bambu offers a wide selection of other dishes and beverages. Although I didn't have the chance to try them all, it gives me something to look forward to on my next visit. Overall, if you're a fan of halo-halo and find yourself in Austin, Bambu is definitely worth a visit. Their halo-halo delivers on taste, with its balanced sweetness and generous filling and don't forget to explore the other enticing options on their menu. #LetsGuide"
