"It’s a cute place! Food is delicious, tortillas are handmade, they have fresh homemade “aguas frescas” (fresh fruit flavored juices/water) like hibiscus, and pineapple . Great service, we did takeout and food was ready within 10-15 min. Husband got the chilaquiles and I got eggs with potatoes and beans, instead of salsa ranchera that comes with it I asked for green tomatillo sauce. We are from Dallas, so glad we found this gem before heading back . Thank you."
"Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy! Today I had the tortilla soup and my lord! Y'all better get to Puebla's and get you a bowl. Last night I went to this restaurant down the street which will remain unnamed and their chicken tortilla soup was americanized. I didn't like it at all. BUT BABEH WHEN I TELL YOU PUEBLAS HAS THAT FIRE!!!!!! Then I had the Pineapple aqua Fresca and man Oh man!!! Thank you baby Jesus. Juan made it and it was soooo refreshing. Thank you Juan. See you next week."
"Man!!!! I love when I find these local spots! The place is a cute little spot it reminded me the "fondas" in Mexico City or Puebla (hence the name) . Menu has different food options I came for breakfast HD the machaca (specialty from chihuahua Mexico) and since I was craving Gorditas I ordered one (Gordita is basically a corn pita fried and you can put anything inside usually a meat dish and some lettuce cheese and tomato). And chicharrón is basically pork belly cooked on a green sauce (made usually with jalapeños and green tomatillo). When I tell you the first bite of that Gordita took me back to my childhood and my teenage years in Mexico eating at those fondas and it's like a warm hug! The hot chocolate could've been better but I give it to them because it came on a nice cup and it had whipping cream (the actual drink was watered down) still pretty enjoyable. Prices can't beat it! So you can have a decent home made Mexican breakfast for less than $10 Btw don't expect complementary chips and salsa like some Mexican spots in order for them to keep the good prices they charge if you want that . Seems reasonable to me And the lady who was serving my food was the sweetest and kind made me feel like home. ********ORDER THE CHICHARRÓN GORDITA you'll see heaven *******"
"Stopped in , happened to be in the area...the waitress that served us had a great positive attitude, cute, happy, and Puebla is lucky to have her..the menu short and sweet to the point but you still feel like there is plenty to choose from. We were pleasantly surprised and even thought..is this worth a repeat visit...oh hell yes..when we wrre leaving, the line already started. Authentic cuisine, tasty..and recommend the corn tortillad, my favorite anywhere inhouston..almost like a flour tortilla but better...great hot chocolate, coffee mugs and refried beans on point...definite try again establishment..be advised ..not too many tables so get ther quick!"
"Authentic Mexican food! Somebody’s abuela is back there throwing down! From the moment you walk in you are immersed in an authentic Mexican experience. From the altar to the decor to the art/memorabilia, to the food, NOTHING IS WATERED DOWN which I appreciate. It’s not the largest place and parking can be difficult as it’s in a neighborhood and off a busy street. It can get packed so you may have to wait if you come between 10-1. The food is sooooo fresh! Sometimes Mexican food can be super greasy but this food is not that. I ordered the picadillo plate and tortilla soup and both were amazing! The portions are more than enough for you to have leftovers. Everything is made fresh! The chips, the tortillas, literally everything is made fresh! The tortilla soup is the best I’ve ever had. Get a crispy taco if you come. Also, they have a hibiscus drink that you HAVE to get with your meal. The prices are outstanding especially given the quality of the food. All of the staff are so welcoming and friendly, I look forward to being a regular here."
