The Spot Hobby Airport

"I came to Houston for the rodeo! It was a great time. Unfortunately, on my way home, I stopped for a bite to eat at The Spot in the Houston Hobby airport. What I noticed during my visit was that the manager, Sam, only spoke to and catered to White customers. Her customer service to White customers was excellent! Sam personally and cheerfully brought out food to White customers. But it was very blatant that her service catered to White customers only. She ignored customers of color, especially Black customers. She even disappeared when Black customers made up a large percentage of the dining area. When she brought out food for any customer of color, she handed the food to the employees (all whom are of color) to serve the customer of color. Fortunately, Jayla and all the other employees, provided great customer service to everyone. Including the White customers Sam served. I travel often to Houston. Unfortunately, I no longer feel comfortable patronizing a business that treats customers who look like me unfairly."

"This was my first time in Houston. I was flying alone, so I was kinda hesitant to try the spot but I did and it was the right choice! Sadie was an amazing server. I didn’t know what to try, but she recommended so many great options. The food was amazing,it took longer than I like but I was running short on time, so sadie even package my food for me togo. I will definitely be coming back again!!"

"Kadi is a keeper and we’d hire her in a heartbeat for our distillery. Spot on, friendly service, with a small but satisfying breakfast menu. Bloody Mary didn’t knock our socks off but certainly drinkable and we they have some local brews and whiskeys. If in the area stop in for a cocktail!"

"I came here super nervous to fly and got a few drinks and some food. Marty tended to me and spoke to me as a friend and it took my jitters away! I was finally so calm and happy. She spoke to me between her wonderful multitasking and helping other customers that would walk up. She was a great sport with me and other customers. Sadly one of the managers or something named Carlos ruined the atmosphere as to why I gave one star for atmosphere, if not for that then 5 stars! If the work is till getting done, then why stop workers from having a good conversation!?"
