"Some of my best friends are Gringos. It's okay. I'm a Gringo too. But sometimes you wanna feel like a Gringón - that's a Gringo pero mas chingón. And when those times strike, I head over to Taqueria Sazón on the corner of Blalock and Kempwood. That's where you can order tacos that are slightly más rudo. So I did just that: the pastor, the barbacoa, the cabeza and the pancita. Let's break that down into Gringo: pastor - marinated pork, barbacoa - a slow cooked tougher meat usually goat, cow or mutton, cabeza - cow's head, and pancita - animal's stomach stuffed with viscera (e.g., kidneys, lung, liver, heart, tripe, etc.) ¿No mames? No. No mames. I also bought a bracelet from a couple that was walking around the parking lot. Huh? Oh. You gots questions about the tacos? I'm shocked! No, not really. I'm gonna assume you've had pastor and barbacoa. The cabeza is technically also barbacoa, but the meat comes exclusively from the head. It has a much "beefier" flavor (if that makes sense) and doesn't tend to be as moist as other barbacoa cuz there's not as much fat in it. The pancita is very gamey and irony. Like - after you eaten all your tacos and drank your gallon jug of Horchata, you'll still be tasting the liver for awhile after you finish. If you're not a fan, you're not gonna like it. If you like it, then you'll love it. Pretty straightforward really. This whole parking lot becomes quite the party on the weekends, the music is bumping and there are good crowds at the taco and eloté trucks and the michelada stands. Es muy divertido. ¡Odelay, Gueys!"
"The Mexican barbacoa was really tasty and amazing, tastes like real thing It is a clean truck, been there forever, great people always happy"
"This is the best barbacoa I've tried so far in the Houston area. The condone is delicious, spicy if you don't eat pepper, tacos, flautas and quesadillas are my favorites. They take around 10+ minutes to get your food ready but it's definitely worth it."
"Overpriced tacos. We got 2 barbacoa tacos and they basically have us boiled meat on a tortilla. My boyfriend took them back and made them put onion and cilantro on them. Didn't get any salsa but honestly no amount of salsa, lime, onion, cilantro and salt could saved those bland tacos. Defiantly won't be coming back."
"Tacos are good if you have been out drinking alcohol and no other place is open. I ordered 2 fajita and 1 barbacoa taco and got 2 of each....was that done on purpose to charge me more? Anyways was given 2 lime wedges for 4 tacos and 1 lime wedge had no juice....thanks. Salsa is tasty and spicy but blocks all meat taste. So if you are buzzing this place should suffice if you are not I suggest trying a different food truck."
