Jim's Restaurants 11006 W Interstate 10, San Antonio, TX 78230

"I've been to this location of Jim's Restaurant a few times now. The first time, I just got a chicken fried steak take out which was pretty good. I loved the white gravy. The next time I came here, I got their steak and eggs and treated myself to the ribeye cut. I know the picture makes the eggs look dry but trust me, it was not as dry as they look. The steak was actually a bit too fatty for me but still had remarkable flavor and definitely hit the spot. The waiter also gave me a taste of the cheese soup and my mind was blown. I don't know if it was because I was hungry or the soup was fresh but that cheese soup was absolutely amazing. The only time that the service was really suffering was when I went with a friend a few days after Christmas and it was absolutely wild. I'm guessing people were leaving to go back home from visiting San Antonio and decided to stop at the diner for food. It took a good hour for us to get seated and get our food ordered. Other than that blip in service, I feel like most days, their service is quick and friendly."

"When I walked into the restaurant, there is an older bald waiter. He looked at me with an extremely annoyed look and said "can I help you?" I was stunned by how annoyed he sounded. I said to him I"'m here to eat." There were two waiters in the restaurant and only three tables, not counting myself. He told me to sit at any table that wasn't dirty. I waited well over 15 minutes and neither one of the wait staff even asked me what I wanted to drink or what I wanted to eat. I was extremely dissatisfied with the service and called the corporate office and left a voicemail with the district manager. Waited about another 5 minutes, still nobody came to take my order or ask me what I wanted to drink. On the way out, I told this man that I already called the corporate office, but before I could finish he interrupted me. I told him to stop interrupting me and let me finish. I then finished explaining to him that I already called the corporate office and left a message with his district manager and that he can expect to talk to them soon. He continued to get flippant with me by sarcastically asking, "oh well is it my turn to talk now?" I told him I wasn't willing to talk to him at that point to which he replied make sure you don't come back". I'm normally pretty patient when it comes to bad service, but this dude was blatantly flippant and very disrespectful. As soon as I left I called the corporate office a second time to tell them about the extreme level of disrespect I received."

"I will start this out by saying Jim's has to do a bit of remodeling. The place is really kind of old and tired. Kind of reminds me of a diner in New York with the Lunch Counter vibe. Except the seats at the counter are not that comfortable. I always eat breakfast here and I've never had a bad meal and find the service to be great. Whether it is eggs benedict, pancakes or your normal ham and eggs, bacon and eggs, the breakfasts are great. Oh by the way, did I mention their outstanding homemade biscuits? Just wonderful. James has been open for decades. Give them a try."

"This place had the feel of cleanliness. I was welcomed with a bright smile from the host/waitress, Hannah. She was very lively and full of positivity. I had a lot of homework and decided to see if I could get comfortable and do my homework there after I eat. Next thing you know I was there for a few hours knocking out an essay and a bunch of quizzes. The seats are so comfortable. I give this place Five Stars and Hannah 100 stars."

"This restaurant is infested with roaches. I sat at the bar, and while l waited for my food l saw colonies (no exaggeration) of roaches crawling around. If you enlarge the picture I included with this post, the black speck is a roach that watched me the whole time. In the corner of the pic are takeout boxes and roaches were crawling all around it while I waited on my food. While the orders were waiting under the heat lamps, roaches were crawling around the food, and while the cooks were preparing the food over the stove, roaches were crawling up the walls. While l was drinking my tea, a baby roach crawled out from under the little black container that had sugar and sweet n low in it. As the waitress would walk by the counter she would use a menu to brush the roaches off the counter and step on them. She tried to do it nonchalantly , but there really is no secret way to scoop roaches off a counter. Eat here at your own risk. This place is nasty. If you don't believe me, just ask to sit at the bar and watch the fun unfold before your eye. Nastiest place I've EVER visited. I will never ever go back to this place again."
