"Place was a little tiny but the music was enjoyable and server was friendly. Not really able to customize or remove certain ingredients but flavor of Swimming in spice poached tofu was really good. The hoisin sauce didn't taste the same as Thai Wok so both my daughter and I were not into that. The spring rolls had almost the same wrapping paper we use at home but the filling seemed a little mushy and lacked flavor. The crispy dumplings had chicken which is fine but prefer just vegetable but still good. They serve a gang of jasmine rice but it was barely warm. A little pricy but would go again for the Swimming in spice poached tofu."

"TLDR: Medium spice and very salty. Portions were small. Disclaimer: I'm not a local. I'm rating based on my nationwide experiences. Crispy Pork with Shrimp Spring Rolls: Was better than average, good, but wasn't unique or noteworthy. Sichuan Fried Rice: Spicy but manageable. Nothing uniquely noteworthy. Twice as Nice "Twice Cooked Underbelly Pork": Medium spice level but the pork was wildly salty. The vegetables and sauce base were fine, just the pork was super salty. It's suppose to be authentic, but it's not for me. Portion was pretty small. I was told it is enough to share for 2 people. 3/4 filled rice container and half filled entre container says otherwise. I don't think the Sichuan style cooking is fit for me. Overall, it was spicy but not too spicy, but very salty. From what I read online, spicy and salty is known characteristics of this style."

"We visited again after years of not being near this side of town and had the Mala "Spicy-Numbing" Dry Pot, hot and sour soup, and green beans. The dry pot is spicy and leaves a unique sensation in your mouth as you eat it. The hot and sour is a lot more delicate than other places. The green beans are served in generous proportions and have a lot of flavor. They do offer some American- style "Chinese" dishes if you just gotta. Bottom line: lots of great food in an out of the way place."

"i LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. i can’t get enough of their crispy tofu or the infamous green beans. this is such a divine gem to find in this city; i don’t even mind making the drive from stone oak! the staff is always pleasant and lovely to interact with just as the food is always cooked to perfection. i can’t tell y’all enough how highly i recommend this restaurant 10/10"

"The place was very authentic in terms of food. The service was good too although our waiter seemed annoyed at times in spite of an empty restaurant and wasn’t very knowledgeable about the dishes he was serving either. The tap in the restroom wasn’t working either. Other than that, the food was very good. I have had better and more robust authentic Chinese food (some of the same dishes we tried there) for cheaper in restaurants elsewhere, but this was good too! The soup dumplings and the tea smoked duck are great!"
