"Food was incredible. I’m allergic to tomatoes and they took special care to make sure to not only note it on my order, but the wait staff also came out and reassured me that they made sure none where used or handled. Fries were amazing. Cooked exactly how I asked them to be. I don’t like soggy fries, so I asked for extra crispy and they were perfect. Only bad thing was the kraut wasn’t drained enough so my hotdog bun was a little soggy. But even that didn’t bother me. The rest of the service was great. My wife ordered there chicken fried steak and she was impressed with everything also It’s a very busy place so it does get a little noisy but that’s just me. All in all it’s a place I highly recommend. Both meals were very filling but not uncomfortable. It held us both over until our late evening supper. Absolutely a must try in my book"

"Before the food comes out you receive a basket of warm bread and cinnamon rolls which were delicious. I had the fried fish with cabbage and mashed potatoes - which were great. They have a huge menu selection. The service was good as well. The fried green tomatoes were well seasoned but should have cooked harder."

"Calico County is a warm casual restaurant, with large breakfast portions, at a great price. Food was delicious, and we loved the mini cinnamon rolls that we're served before the meal! It has become one of our favorite spots to visit, on our trips to the east coast. We try to stop there whenever we're in Amarillo."

"Friendly and relaxing atmosphere. The service was spot on. This is truly home cooking Texas style the way we grew up around these parts. In my opinion you will not find a better place to dine. Unless you want a steak."
