"I like the location, virtual classes, and equipment but there are a few concerns. The bathrooms are either always clogged or they don't flush! Could use an upgrade on manual flush toilets instead of sensors. The workout/dance rooms are always locked - which I think is a loss on some workout real estate in this already space-limited gym. I enjoy the Irsay YMCA but it can be cramped so opening the dance spaces would be helpful."
"I really want to like this gym. It's clean and has nice equipment. But I usually go for the bodypump classes and it's been constant frustration for months. They have a lot of virtual classes (no instructor) and often the room is not ready for the class. Several times the class started but there was no audio or you could barely hear it. The staff had no idea how to fix it and didn't seem to care. The last time I went they had no clue there was even a class and the project was up. Sometimes the equipment room is locked and once someone was sleeping in the classroom and I had to ask them to leave. I know virtual classes are economic, but at least an instructor would have the room ready. Instructors also help new learners as the videos are too fast and you have to already be very experienced with the class to keep up. I got frustrated enough to just cancel my Y membership. It's too expensive if I can't do the classes."
"For a “luxury gym” this place is way too crowded. Workout area is way too small. Not enough racks to deadlift on, gets way too crowded for what you pay when I go. And there’s never an open lane in the pool to swim. For the traffic this place gets. Either up the price and weed people out, or increase your space."
"The instructors are Great. They make you feel welcome and help you understand how to do the exercises correctly or adjust if you can't perform them because of restrictions. Annette for Aqua Cardio classes Chris for chair yoga. Since my surgeries these classes were a huge part of my recovery and I continue to use them years after to help me stay mobile. Just a sea of friendly people"
"I enrolled my child in a youth membership for basketball, given that outdoor activities are limited in December. He's taken swimming lessons in the past and I would sit and watch him swim. Today when we went to pick up his pass, the encounter with the guest services representative was quite uncomfortable. The representative questioned, "What are you going to be doing?" I explained that I would be watching my child, and she suggested I might need to pay for a guest pass. I clarified that I wouldn't be using the facilities myself, as I don't work out. However, she then made a strange comment, saying, "Well, you could go into the bathroom to change your clothes and then go work out; we wouldn't know." I found this remark awkward and accusatory. If I wanted a family membership, I would have opted for that. Despite my lack of interest in working out, I'm sure there are other parents who simply want a safe indoor environment for their children to play. Perhaps the situation was misinterpreted, especially since I was carrying my child's water bottle and backpack? Nevertheless, the facility itself is nice and will gladly pay for guest pass if required to sit and observe."
