"You don't need to be a horror fan to enjoy this place (I'm not) but some knowledge of cinema will greatly enhance your experience. From the very beginning, you realize that this museum takes very seriously its monsters' portrayal. The wax figures are extremely lifelike and very detailed. Signs with interesting info and curious facts are attached to the displays. The music and the lighting creates an adequately eerie atmosphere. All the great monsters of cinematic history are here from Nosferatu to Jason to Jigsaw and beyond. And there's memorabilia too. A must for horror fans, a should for cinephiles, a why not for the rest."
"If you love horror movies or shows, this is the place for you. Many cool and realistic wax figures along with their history. Pictures of their gifts shop included."
"Great wax museum inside the oldest bank building in Salem (1803), and they make use of the old vaults, so it's a unique setup. If you are a fan of horror films and their history, you'll like this place. There are placards throughout the gallery that provide a lot of little known facts/trivia about the actors and films throughout horror cinema history. No photos allowed in the gallery, just in the shop. Gift shop is small, but charming. My daughter and I really enjoyed it."
"Very awesome attraction in Salem. The wax figures looked real and spooky. I took my daughter's, who are 3 and 6 they had a blast. I would consider this attraction family-friendly, but some people may think differently."
"- this place is super cool if you love horror movies, lots of cool things to see, and have a nice gift shop as well. - you cannot take pics of anything in the museum, which is a bummer but understandable. - prices for everything are not bad, tickets were $15 per person if I remember correctly. - lots of cool merchandise in the gift shop. - staff friendly but do and will enforce no photography. - overall a good first experience here and definitely recommend this place. It's probably one of the best things to see while in Salem if you like horror movies."
