"So thankful I stopped by to hear the story and history of this church! If you are visiting Savannah, then you must add this tour to your list!!"
"Wonderful and rich history shared by Associate Pastor Derrick. He gave a thoughtful and insightful look into the history of the church and the challenges faced. Also was quite interesting to learn of the contributions of each pastor and the periods of time in which they led the institution. The tour was much more than just the church history and also gave insight into the history of Savannah, abolitionists contribution within the region, and civil rights struggles specific to Georgia. I highly recommend to people of all races."
"Roped into chaperoning a school field trip, and the First Aftican Baptist Church was on our itinerary. Oh my gosh! I can not express to you how much of an impact and impression it has made on the kids & adults. The history is led by the most incredible woman who has dived deep into the understanding of the impact, history, & and future of the First African Baptist Church. The narrative was told for the age group and maturity level, which was perfect. Enough to fully engage the group and leave you inquisitive for more depth of knowledge. I would honestly love to spend days with her asking questions and learning Savannah's history through her storied narratives. To better understand the history of Savannah, you absolutely must visit!! The First African Baptist Chirch is quite iterally the foundation where Savannah was built brick by brick."
"One on the best oral history tours I’ve ever experienced. Our host was so funny and informative and just full of so much knowledge. I highly recommend this tour and be sure to to the host for all her hard work and dedication to the research of the history of the church."
