"If you care about your health, do not use this practice. 1. I had an echocardiogram prior to the first appointment with my cardiologist, Dr. Gaskin. He never looked at it. He insisted he needed me to have an echo done with his office and kept asking me each time we spoke (5 times) if I had had that done, even though I had already told him I had already had one and made sure he had a copy of it. 2. His nurse Pam, when she fitted me for a heart monitor, told me to call if my high heartrate was sustained for longer than 15 minutes. I warned her that there would be a lot of calls because a sustained high HR was the reason for my visit. She assured me that was fine and told me to call as many times as needed. After three such calls to her, she called me back and told me to stop calling her. 3. When I attempted to do as the dr asked and pay out of pocket for ANOTHER echo with his staff, the front desk told me insurance would not allow another and I needed to wait, with no answers and no checkups about my problem, for THREE months until I could get another echo done with them. Turns out, they never bothered to check with my insurance to see what was allowed. When I called my insurance (BCBS) , they informed me that there was no limit on how frequently I could have an echo done and never had been. I had to have my insurance rep on speakerphone in order to get the front desk to schedule me an appointment for an echo. 4. The first thing the dr said to me was that I don’t look like his other patients. The dr spent six weeks hung up on his preconceived judgment that since I do not look like his other patients, then my heart problems were due to anxiety and malnutrition/dehydration/eating disorder. I repeatedly told him that my anxiety was perfectly under control when the issue was discovered, that I was hydrating as much as possible (including paying out of pocket for iv fluids), and that I have NEVER had an eating disorder. He refused to look at the echocardiogram that I had done in preparation for his initial appointment and never suggested any other way to find out my issues. He “prescribed” that I drink nothing but Gatorade during every visit I had with him and gave me zero answers to my problem. After six weeks, my labs are all within normal ranges and yet, I STILL have an elevated HR and no more answers that I had when I began seeing him. 5. When I had to call and ask about my labs that had been taken a week prior, the nurse told me she had had no idea I had even had labs drawn. 6.The lab office neglected to take the ordered labs during one visit and never let anyone know they had not been taken until the dr discovered they had not been drawn DURING the visit I had to discuss those labs. The next time I had labs drawn, they also neglected to collect everything and chased me down the hall to hand me a urine cup and directed me to a bathroom that did not have materials for a clean catch. When I exited that bathroom, another lab tech in the main hospital hallway, instructed me to place my urine cup in her duffel bag to roll around with several other urine cups loose in the bag, along with blood samples in a squished cardboard stand. When I stopped back into the lab office to tell them that she had collected my urine cup, the lab office seemed confused why I was concerned about just handing my sample to a random person in the hall and that no one had a chance to log that I had given it. 7. When I finally got fed up with their unprofessionalism, I called to have my records forwarded to my new cardiologist. They first told me that I would have to drive two hours to their office to sign a release. When I told them I could not do that and asked that they email me the form they told me that “THEY DO NOT DO EMAIL.” They told me the form was on their website, but when I told them I could not find it, they hung up on me. This group of people are the most careless, caustic, and unprofessional group of people I have ever met."
"Dr Kim is great but the receptionist in 504 for the Lab was not helpful at all. At best the receptionist was under trained and lacked basic customer service skills.Visited here 12/29/2022"
"Dr. Little was great the first time I went, but after the first visit, I can never get an appointment with him because the receptionist will never answer the phone. I left a voicemail with no luck either. If I am going to choose someone as my primary doctor, it should be easy to get an appointment. this is the 3rd time that I have tried to get in, where I have had to jump through hurdles just to talk to a human. At this point I am just going to find a different doctor."
"Southview Medical at St. Vincents downtown. Dr. Sohn and her staff are wonderful and very thorough. I had some testing done that is rarely performed and Dr. Sohn made it happen. They are on the 3rd floor of the Professional building 3. There is valet parking also. Dr. Sohn is very humble and kind."
"I’ve been here before and slightly remember it. I’ve see some negative things on here, but they are dated. Went to one desk and they told us where to go. I’m confident that if you arrive at a wrong place the staff will point you in the correct direction. If you are an established patient or trying to become a patient, don’t get discouraged if you get some run around. A quick call to the office manager usually helps. The patient portal is used very much at this group. The group uses a kiosk to check in for regular appointments. As I sit here and type this, an older gentleman is beating this kiosk up. I’m sure that doesn’t happen that often. But overall, the place runs like a machine. I won’t say it’s a well oiled machine, but it works. The decor in the place is top notch. Congrats suite 500; y’all’s decor takes the cake. Looks like some of my wife’s stuff. These healthcare employees are fun. I can hear my wife cutting up with them right now. The ultimate test now is to see if they can figure out if we are going to die sooner than later. Only Jesus knows that!"
