"The company was great for 20 years while I paid each monthly payment in full on always on time. However when the policy was surrendered, I rec'd a runaround for 3 months while my surrender value plummeted to nearly nothing, at which time the wrote the check. Be aware of this big company as they clearly do NOT CARE. Cant tell you how many hours I wasted on the phone."

"They cancelled my policy after the previous payment did not go through, they sent 1 mailed letter and that was it before canceling it. It wasn’t even a late payment, Protective Life knew it didn’t go through and just sent a mailed note of this. We were in the middle of selling, moving, and dealing with a family health emergency. This should be illegal. They don’t train their employees as some told me it was mail notification only then another said they started text and phone call notification sometime in 2023. I asked them if they communicated these changes to employees as well as customers but I never saw anything. I appealed this and reapplied but was denied. They are crooks and should be investigated by SEC. They lock down their departments, specifically the ones who review the applications, as well as management so you can’t talk to anyone. FRAUDS!!! Do not give them a cent. I will be filing complaint with Attorney General."

"They are ok with having an emotional egotistical passive aggressive micro aggressive culturally insensitive bigot run training courses who is insecure with low self esteem and needs you to laugh at her corny jokes and if you don’t, FIRED! This company is a joke. Typical toxic call center with a HIGH turnover rate which is why all of the customers who are complaining are not exaggerating the only ppl who have been there for years are managers constantly new ppl which would make since as to why the ball is always being dropped. I never even considered their life insurance as an employee! Take your business else where."

"Protective not paying out on my mothers life insurance. After my mother passed in 2022, we submitted the beneficiary paperwork in March 2023. After some back and forth, the file was complete on June 21, 2023. Their customer service said the payments need to be set up and it might take 4 to 6 weeks before my siblings and I would receive our first check. I called again July 24, because no check. Called again Aug 25, because no check. Customer Service stated they would escalate. Called again Sept 6. This time Customer Service stated someone would call me back in 3 days. No call, so I called again on Sept 11, they are still working on setting up the payment, but they would escalate to management. I called again on Sept 25. Customer Service does not know why not set up, but they will escalate (for the 3rd time). Still waiting..."
