"I wish I could have called Gramercy a home, but unfortunately it was an unpleasant experience. Prior to moving in, I worked with a gentleman named Connor, who was fantastic and extremely professional. Outside of Connor, the communication is poor. I would call and leave a voicemail, but there would not be a call returned. I experienced mold, leaky pipes, and more. If you decide to move in, I strongly encourage to check and request a mold test. I hope to see Gramercy make changes in the positive direction because it is in a great location and plenty of grass, but the apartments are outdated for the price they are asking. Overall, I strongly recommend checking the room prior to moving in."
"Would not recommend living here. Apartments are run down and have black mold. When you complain about the mold all they do is paint over it but it just comes right back. Maintenance takes forever to come for any issue. Office never answers the phone. They towed my car at my expense the first week I lived there because they forgot to mark it as registered with the tow company. When I finally moved out the refund check for the security deposit bounced and they made me jump through several hoops and took over a month to reissue it."
"I’ve had a really difficult time since moving in here. I was not given mailbox keys and eventually had to pay the post office for keys myself. The office misplaced a car registration during this time and when my car was towed did not reimburse me. It’s understandable for there to be some issues in the units as the buildings are older but the office is really slow to respond to app requests and often doesn’t even enter in person requests. I’ve had issues with insects, recurrent mold and mildew, electricity issues like flashing lights and a smoldering breaker box, and was feeling unwell when I used my furnace. This went on to the point that I contacted code enforcement and they visited. I walked into the office the next day to hear a leasing consultant, Jenny, discussing my unit and telling the property manager not to take care of anything because I was on drugs and full of (profanity). Sending a recording of that conversation to corporate on my own did eventually get a response. However, when they looked further it was found a flue above my unit meant to remove carbon monoxide produced by more than one gas furnace was not vented outside the building and was dumping exhaust into my attic and unit. I still have not received an apology despite the companies knowledge of their employee’s behavior and the only concession I’ve been offered is the option to move out in just over 24 hours and have my buyout fees waived. Edited to add: After this review was posted I did receive a response from the company. It contained a generic apology for the staff member's comments but no personal apology and stated that the behavior did not justify removal of the staff member. The concerns regarding mail were not addressed in this email. I was offered the option to provide a 30 day notice and pay damages as the complex determined and nothing more. It is true that I have had several maintenance visits over the last three days, however, it is also true that on many occasions I worked with the office to arrange half-days of work or to be home at a certain time for a maintenance visit and workers either never came or called as I was leaving the parking area after waiting 30 or more minutes past the scheduled time. I believe the lack of documentation by and attitude towards residents of office staff remains a serious concern. The complex stated that because I was not running my furnace, the leaking flue was not a concern, even though it vented multiple units and I had reported concerns about air quality, smells, and feeling ill in-person 4 times over the prior 3 weeks."
"I sooo wish we would’ve thought to look at Google Reviews before renting!! I just visited my son in his new place for the first time, I’m beyond disgusted by the state of his apartment for the price he’s paying for a 1bd/1ba. The shower/tub won’t drain properly, which I’m guessing is dry rot from a horrific installation and even worse “patching.” There’s a 1/16” plastic shower surround on the wall that has been patched, the faucets don’t function properly either (there is no chance this meets code) I’ve attached pictures. The kitchen cabinets are all loose with doors hanging crooked with loose hinges. There’s water damage on the wall behind the toilet, which isn’t helped by the fact the vinyl flooring doesn’t meet the tub and there’s sub-floor exposed. I can’t even begin to comment on the hack job done by the painter. He’s only been here since September 1st and the vents and air filter are FILTHY!! I doubt they’ve ever been cleaned. I’m afraid they took advantage of a 21 y/o getting his first place. So disappointed…Ive let him know to contact the manager on Monday to have this fixed."
"Wonderful and welcoming staff! Everything is transparent. Mariah was very helpful and was pointing out minor things to be fixed in the apartment, which I did not even notice! Shows you how much they care about their tenants. Good experience overall."
