"The worst apartment you could ever imagine for an absurd price. Built in the 60s and never renovated, upon moving in you will find that you immediately need to make a work order for 5 broken things in your apartment. 3 of the things will be fixed and the rest will be ignored. The walls are paper thin so you every single thing your neighbor does, including them pissing, them showering, and them sneezing. Good luck if you have one that watches TV all day, because it will drive you crazy! In your common area (not big enough to be a living room) you will hear everything going on in the hallway loud and clear. Someone knock on the door of the apartment 2 doors down? Someone having a loud conversation in the hallway? You will not know peace! The historic University Apartments is also always dealing with plumbing and water issues of some sort, so with the rampant water damage across each complex, you will find mold! The icing on the cake is that because this is student housing, there is an insane markup! Have fun paying $4345 a semester, which is more expensive than any apartment around here, for a one bedroom apartment while slowly being poisoned with mold, while half the things in your apartment don't work and you can hear your neighbor and her boyfriend getting it on next door!"
"The building is incredibly old and the RA's do not do their jobs here. Neighbors can be as loud as they want, you will get no sleep if you live here. Fire alarms go off all the time due to people smoking in the rooms/hallway. Any maintenance you need is ignored or "cannot be done until summer break""
"I visited ISU apartments to see a grandchild. The apartment was very small but nice. The electricity and plumbing seemed fine. Landry facilities looked good. I was concerned about the safety of the building and the occupants."
"Pretty bad for the price. As many other reviews say, it is very dated, and is in dire need of a remodel or rebuild. The infrastructure is falling apart. I will list everything I've notice wrong or broken in my few weeks being here. -One of the bedroom windows is broken, with a piece of glass missing allowing insects/air in. -There is an exposed wire sticking out the bottom ethernet port with the insulation stripped. -The top Element on my oven doesn't work -The roof in the kitchen looks like it's about to cave in. -The curtain rail in the front room is bent, and only connected to 2 of the 4 spots, making it unusable. -Two of the light fixtures have problems causing one of the bulbs in each to flicker. (Like in a horror movie) -The ONE dryer for our whole floor broke after just a few weeks -The ceiling tiles in the bathroom look like they could fall in at any moment due to the humidity. It's just disappointing because you are basically paying $1K+ a month to live here. Granted, utilities aren't a factor, but you know they've made enough money to remodel the building by now. The school is TAX EXEMPT, so all the money goes right into their pockets. Another minor gripe is the lack of central air. All the apartments have been outfitted with window units, however."
"Dated as everyone else has already mentioned. Unit 4 however offers one bed, one bath which is extremely nice! Clean and very prompt with maintenance. I do have an issue with the entrance- you can only use your key with one door and mine happened to be the loading door which put me at risk a couple of times of falling esp. when I had to carry in groceries by myself or if someone was existing while I was trying to enter. Laundry room nice and overall safe area!"
