West Park

"A very nice park with a playground, splash area, shelters with tables, and easy walking paths. My kids have outgrown playgrounds but my dog likes walking there."

"I love west park. There are a lot of paved walkways available for wheelchairs. There is a very nice boardwalk over a lake that you can catch a sighting of a beaver or fish. The wildlife there is excellent. I was very disappointed when it was closed to be rebuilt but I think they did an excellent job expanding the trails back into the woods of the park. There's a large hill which I think is man-made but it's good for viewing. I've seen hawks hunting and a bald eagle there before. There are excellent play sets and a splash pad for the summer."

"This was our first time back since West Park was renovated. They completely moved everything except the pond. The splash area is nice. Our only complaint would be that the water shut off, and we didn't find any way to turn it back on. There are 3 wheels at the top of the hill, near the big slide, but they didn't turn water on. It was a little chilly today, so it wasn't a big deal to not get back in the water. Great job, Carmel Clay parks!"

"This is such a great place for a family day out. There is a playground with gigantic slides, swings, a little tunnel climbing thing, a river like splash area and a little kids play area on one side of the park. Then there's an indoor restroom with covered shelters. In the other side of the parking lot is a really nice paved trail system and this neat greasy hoo with climbing rocks. They are building a huge "program center" at the entrance which we are very excited to see (it's so big I thought it was the new library). And right now you can see the construction which was a huge draw for my two year old."
