Children's Medical Center Dallas 1935 Medical District Drive, Dallas, TX 75235

"My review is not on the staff and doctors of the facility as much as it is the admin and directors who are currently over it. The doctors and nurses are wonderful. They teach parents how to advocate for their children, they work on some of the most complicated cases and have saved many lives including my little brother. That is the reason this review has any stars at all. The doctors, nurses, techs, all medical personnel are 100/10 stars. ADMIN HOWEVER is only worried about politics, money, and probably some legalese while putting aside the health of the very patients that they saved years ago leaving doctors hands tied who want to help. Childrens helps many patients that have a multitude of special needs and congenital disorders. Many of these patients still need tests and surgeries to be performed at facilities such as childrens due to cognitive level, or body malformations. It used to be a long standing thing (at least with cardiology) that their patients could come to childrens med dallas as long as they need (especially in the special reasons i mentioned) Now, what we were told in 2017 is no longer true. My little brother has been passed off to UTSW as they are of the same system and childrens PROMISED they are just as accommodating... THEY ARE NOT... they try, they do try, and UTSW is (usually) very good but they are very much "no an emptying scan must be done with eggs or ensure" "no only 1 person is allowed with the pt" "no we cannot sedate for an ultrasound or CT it is never done" they ask us why cant we do it at childrens and it is because Admins will not allow it. Weve even had a doctor try to arrange a test to be done at childrens JUST A TEST AND HE GO BACK TO HIS DR AT UTSW and they said no its against policy. THESE ADMINS DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PEDIATRIC PATIENTS AND THEY NEED TO STOP TELLING PARENTS THAT UTSW AND PARKLAND WILL ACCOMMODATE IN THE SAME WAY BECAUSE THEY DO NOT. The admins need to review their age policy and ammend for their pediatric patients they've had SINCE BIRTH with known issues that can be justified through records of needing the specialized care. At least being able to get testing and surgery done there. Especially if the doctor is with UTSW. They are "the same affiliate" correct? So they should be able to "crossover" correct? There is such a disconnect from the 2 facilities that I dont understand why Childrens doctors and staff say they are the same. They are not. Please be aware if your child is about to turn 21, and they have a cognitive level that requires children's med care, or such. You will be running into this problem."

"I absolutely love the care of the doctors and all staff my experience with children’s hospital has been great but I have a serious issue that I I’m very disappointed that my husband who has raised my son since he was 4 yrs old cannot pay the medical bill because he isn’t his biological father!!? What is wrong with this issue to simply pay the bill and they are so rude about it and we pay all our bills and Dr and hospital stay and do not understand why payment will not be excepted by my husband who handles all the bills the billing definitely sucks and now they want to send the bill in my sons name who 17 and doesn’t even work I all because they will not except payment from my husband is just ridiculous. I refuse to handle this myself because me and my husband have been treated horrible due to this. Also tried to add my husband as an emergency contact and they would not add him because they have to keep biological father as a contact when he is not in the picture and lives out of the country so how is that a good contact with incorrect information? Please help me understand this."

"My son spiked a fever so we had to go to the ER this evening. The entire staff was so attentive, quick, and made sure to make my 11mo feel safe and comfortable. The RN that was checking up on us in our room went above and beyond for my son, he played with him, held him, and comforted him when he was still feeling sick. Diamond the RN was one of the best nurses I’ve dealt with, he truly cares for his patients and the families!"

"Over the years, with 3 children, I have had many experiences with this hospital, and they're more bad than good. The most recent - 12/29/2023 - I brought my child in due to complications from a concussion. They put us in a room and left us sitting here for going on 2 hours with no communication. My daughter is in pain, and honestly, I believe they forgot we were here.The lack of communication has been an issue in the past during other visits, and it seems they haven't even tried to correct it. This hospital isn't worth it, not even a little bit. There are other, more competent, places to take your children to in the DFW metroplex."
