"If I could give this place no stars I would. This is the worst place to rent from. Not only are they con artists but once you move they try and screw you financially and nickel and dime you for everything. They went up on rent and didn’t tell me they were going to do it until 30 days before my lease was up. Then even after moving out they are trying to sue me for damages that aren’t even there and issues that was never fixed when I called maintenance. I would rather live in a box than ever rent from this place again."

"First we had fleas in the carpet when we moved in. I rented a carpet cleaner to remove them and the water was brown. They clearly didn't have the carpets cleaned properly and the carpets were so old they should have been replaced. Lived there for almost a year with no more bugs then we had a terrible roach infestation a couple months after new people moved in next door. We told them about it as soon as we saw them. My book collection was destroyed because the roaches were living in and eating them. They blamed us for the roaches because we had dishes in our sink. Bought a house and we have never had any roaches since leaving so we were not the problem."

"I cannot recommend this apartment anymore. Over the last few years, my family's vehicles have been beaten, broken into, and destroyed. We don't keep valuables in them, so there's no reason for someone to break into our cars. Nothing has ever been stolen because there's nothing to steal. There are no cameras on site so all damages have come out of our pockets, on top of a rent increase this year. Save yourself some money and stress. Don't live here."

"I'm nearly at the end of my lease and I can safely say this apartment complex is worth the price. The inside of the units are pretty standard, I have found our neighbors to mostly be quiet/nice/normal, BUT note that they don't have great plumbing. I have to unclog our toilet several times per month - no joke. Also the sink fills with water when I run the dishwasher. So - probably old plumbing. But those are pretty minor annoyances for us. I am satisfied to say that I haven't seen a single roach since I moved in 10 months ago. The road this complex is on is very quiet so that's nice. Maintenance was prompt and reliable. Management is pretty nice and professional, except they always seem to leave early on the days you need them the most. The pet deposit is steep - if you have pets that's a con, but if you don't want to live around barking dogs, that could be a pro. Overall I feel like living here was a good choice - and good apartments are hard to come by in Decatur!"

"So my opinion on wheeler estate is terrible!! Our first apartment they moved us into was infested with roaches. We had to move across the field me being 9 months pregnant which they kept putting off our move in date for almost a month. Saying the carpet was being redone. Yeah big lie. So after that incident our air conditioning unit went out for a week and a half. They were nice at first but now the maintenance men and cleaning women are super rude. Oh and they've promising me to fix my floors for almost 4 months but they keep forgetting. We are very unsatisfied. Since I've been here I myself and other apartment neighbors felt the complete same. Not worth the money we pay. I recommend you not wasting your time or money here. We have been very nice and understanding now to the point we are over this experience."
