"I have struggled with insomnia for more than 45 years. Other physicians that I have visited have paid little attention to my sleep issues, and in fact did not seem interested in getting to the root cause of why I haven’t been able to sleep very well since I was in elementary school. But Dr. Patterson was different. Dr. Patterson was the most kind and professional doctor I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. She gave me more information in 30 minutes than I’ve been able to accumulate over four decades. There was never a hint of condescension nor did I feel rushed. She’s highly intelligent, fully engaged with her patients, and her bedside manner is impeccable. She not only earned my respect, trust and patronage, but I will refer every person I know that has sleep issues to her. I highly recommend Dr. Patterson and her entire staff. Update (Jan 10, 2024). "This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at clinic. First, the rooms were unclean and had an unsettling smell. You could tell only surface spot cleaning was performed. I could see hairs on the sheets from what I assume was the previous patient. The staff let one of the other patient's children run up and down the hall during the night which made sleeping incredibly hard. In the morning the Doctor informed me that I woke up constantly during sleep but could give no reason why. She seemed like she just wanted to rush and get me out rather than spend the time to find the root of my problem. I kept trying to ask questions and get advice and she seemed like she either had no knowledge on sleep disorders or just did not want to take the time to look at my chart and find a reason for my issues. They then billed my insurance company for nearly five thousand dollars, despite doing literally nothing to help me. I then started getting rude calls demanding I pay them 150 dollars that was owed on the account. They kept calling it a co-pay but UAB won't let you receive services without first paying. So I asked to get an itemized bill showing services rendered and what each individual charge was for to insure they weren't trying to collect money for services that were not given. They refused to provide this for me and are still giving me constant harassing calls. I would avoid this clinic at all costs.They only care about getting your money and have no concern over your health and trying to find how to give you the treatment you need!"
