"5 star+++! Very professional, prompt and reasonably priced. Our furnace went out in January. We called Kent and they came out the same day. The next day they installed a new furnace at a better price than we received in July from a different company. We were in a bad situation. Thankfully, Kent Heating and Air Conditioning came to our rescue with a great furnace with a great price! Thank you all so much for your professionalism and prompt service."
"My wife and I knew we needed a new HVAC system when we bought our house. We called a few places and liked Don with Kent. We dropped more than $23K on a new continuously variable AC, 2 stage furnace, and zoning system. We were told Lennox is the absolute best and got sold on the upgrades to the equipment. It got installed and had some issues - on particularly cold/hot days, the equipment was not quite able to keep up. Called them out a few times for these issues, and they made some adjustments. For instance, settings were changed so the 2nd stage of the furnace kicked in sooner. Or a setting on the AC was changed so that the compressor pumped out colder air. It worked - for those particularly cold/hot days. But then on days when it’s only 45, for example, the furnace is over-firing. Thermostat is set to 69 heating and the temp gets up to 71. Same kind of issue with AC. We would call and ask for a tech, and one would get sent. When we had them out most recently, one of them told my wife that these were very new systems from Lennox and they’re still learning about them. Not very reassuring. So, I had several questions about how the equipment worked, how it was actually working to its full potential with the zoning board that was installed, my disappointments with how I was told it would work with how it actually works, and also what could be done about it. I was told that with these systems, could handle these kinds of extremes - and also handle light heat/cool requirements, all in the most comfortable and efficient manner. It isn’t. The AC pumps out freezing air all the time. The furnace seems to always be in the second stage. I called and eventually got a hold of the owner of Kent and he and I had a 20-25 minute conversation about my concerns and issues, including that despite both my furnace and AC being iComfort enabled, I was not presented with getting an iComfort enabled zoning system or thermostats. My review of Lennox’s website, which I conducted in depth once these issues were occuring, indicated that if they are all iComfort enabled, then the systems know what the request is (for instance, the thermostat is calling for heat because it has been bumped up several degrees on a day where it’s 5 degrees outside as opposed to the thermostat is calling for heat because it’s dropped a degree from the normal set temp and it’s 50 out. In my opinion, the owner first tried selling me lines of BS - telling me things like, “Oh, your furnace knows what temp your thermostat is calling for and adjusts its output accordingly.” I did not see how that was possible - given the fact that the zoning board is not set up to work that way. Nor are the thermostats I have. So, I asked him how - because I legitimately wanted to understand but was confused as to how it is possible with the equipment I have. He did not have an answer to that and several other questions after I kept pressing them. Eventually he told me he didn’t know the exact answers to a lot of my questions, but he was going to ask the techs and that he’d get back to me. I asked him for his email address and he gave it. A couple weeks went by and I didn’t hear from him. So I emailed him - but got no response. Emailed again - no response. It’s been several months now with no response. Bottom line is this: they’ll take your money. And then when you have questions and concerns over what you spent a lot of money on because it does not seem to be operating the way it was sold to you or the way it would seem it should operate, they just simply do not respond. Very unfortunate. EDIT No. 1: As Kent’s response promised, they did reach out to me to schedule a time for them to come out, listen to my issues and concerns and came out. They made some modifications, which after a few days, have helped with the heating. Will have to see if a modification they made to help the AC will help. They apologized for how things went down with the transition of owners. Unfortunate the prior owner let it fall off, but happy with the new owner’s response so far. Increased stars to 3 for now."
"We have been customers of Kent H&AC since the mid 90's, purchased 2 furnaces and 1 air conditioner, and we have been very satisfied. The technicians they send are always top notch. We have had 2 small issues in all those years that were their responsibility, and when we notified them the issues were taken care of promptly at no charge. I just had a furnace outage repaired (new blower motor), parts were covered by warranty, and they ended up charging us only about 60% of the initial labor estimate because the work went smoothly for the technician and less time was required."
"I had this company out last year to check heating issues with my zone system and they scared me into buying a new furnace. They did a good job with the installation. However, they were a bit gruff with me when I asked them to tape up some areas leaking air after the installation. Unfortunately, I've since learned that the "cracked heat exchanger" and warning sticker affixed to the old furnace is a scare tactic used to sell new furnaces. Fool me once..."
"I can highly recommend Kent for your heating and air conditioning. Last month they were the only company who told and explained why my 23 year old furnace and air conditioner was undersized for my 2,100 sq ft home. Total replacement of furnace, air conditioner, thermostat and ductwork modification for new efficient air cleaning filter ( good for a year). They had all the data for my installation filled out for the Nipsco rebate application I sent in which was helpful. Two day job, the technicians had the time to install with craftsmanship. Installation looks great system works great."
