"I would not recommend moving here based on my experience. Communication has been a significant issue, with the management being unresponsive to in-person visits, calls, or emails. The management team seems to change every few months, which might contribute to the lack of consistency in handling matters. Additionally, there have been problems with the refund of deposits or any money owed to me."
"DO NOT MOVE HERE Similar to many reviews left by other people, I have also been waiting and reaching out to get my security deposit back, unsuccessfully. I moved out in August 2023, and it is now December 2023 with absolutely no response/communication from the property, despite having to contact them (by email, calls, voicemails) numerous times. A day before moving out, a leasing agent told me that they were "all caught up" with returning security deposit and should be underway in 1 month after I move out. She is no longer with the company, as with almost every single staff at CBD. In the short duration of 1 year of living here, there were at least 3 different property managers, and more time without any manager and/or with a new manager "transitioning", aka not an actual management functioning properly. Because of this, every e-mail I would send to the property manager would not be responded as the email was no longer used by the person. Same thing is happening right now as I'm trying to contact them for my security deposit - I would email the leasing agent, the property manager, the corporate office, the VP, whoever's email address I can find, call the corporate office, leave voicemails = NOTHING. It's funny how absolutely nobody is responding. This is literally a small portion of their staffing issues - just too many to write down everything. Not to mention the building's security. It is basically an airbnb with new people coming in and out every day. The underground garage is basically the city's garage with thefts and crimes happening (it's $300 monthly by the way). I saw a gun shot in the window glass by the front door, also another gun shot in the back elevator. No explanation from the management of the issue whatsoever. Noise problem is really an issue here. I was facing Bagley street. There is the Detroit People Mover (a skyline subway system) that runs right in front of my big window - you can literally see the faces of all the passengers. It is loud, it runs every 15-20 mins, all day and into the night. There are construction going on every single day. It was my daily routine of waking up to construction noise (and by waking up, I mean jump sometimes) every morning at 6 am. There are also crazy people screaming for no reason at 3 am in front of the building b/c it's near 3 clubs and numerous bars. Literally was going up the wall with the noise issues. My hallway literally smelled like weed all the time, and when I brought it up to the staff, they brought a can of Febreze and sprayed that. That's the extent of their "Property management". I hope this review helps!"
"I moved in this apartment when it was first developed in 2021. I was told this was going to be a luxury resort State of the art apartment with valet patking. The first year was great. It was quiet renters only although all of the amenities had not been completed period. Great property manager and great staff. The second year was horrible. All of the original employees had left. Without the knowledge of renters the apartment complex became an air bnb. The trash rooms are nasty the pool is closed allegedly Being clean this has been a three months cleaning situation. No valet parking. This new facility has become horrible. Do not move here."
"Our experience renting here was horrible, don't waste your money on these "luxury" apartments. Clearly they ran out of money before the building was complete and can't afford to follow through on most of the advertised amenities. They lied before we signed the lease and rented us an apartment that wasn't finished (no blinds, closet shelving, door handles, and kitchen cabinets that scrape each other when you open and close them). It took 2+ months to get blinds in our apartment, and they only covered half the windows. They care about your privacy too much to install security cameras, but not enough to provide blinds in a penthouse apartment to prevent the outside world from seeing into my bedroom. Security is a joke and management is a disaster. There's a new property manager every 2 weeks. Most of the signage in the building makes no sense (don't put recycling in the recycling/trash room, tv instructions in the gym that don't work, pool rules are for the state of PA, handicap buttons to open doors are nonfunctional, incorrect floor maps). They regularly make promises without following through. Don't waste your money. UPDATE: It's now been 3 months since I moved out. I waited the requisite 30 days to get my security deposit back from City Club and did not receive a check or any notice of damages. I cannot get ahold of anyone by phone, and they do not respond to email. The only way I think I'm going to be able to get my security deposit back is via small claims court. DO NOT LIVE HERE."
