"One of my favorite places in Michigan. I have many good memories here and making new ones. GM’s inclusion of everyone is unbelievable. Handicap access to everything, they even have made wheelchair accessible booths for doing work on a laptop with a beautiful view. Seeing the palm trees brings a warm feeling to my heart. I won’t be able to travel far enough to see them outside, so I’m very grateful just be able to have them here in Michigan. There are a lot of eateries around this area as are some shops. BIG reminder! Look on the RenCen website for parking discounts. There are 3 restaurants that allow you to get valet parking at a huge discount. If you don’t eat but shop instead, the site gives you the information needed on purchase amount and where to get a discount off of a parking garage. I typically park across Beaubien Blvd. at SP+ Parking. I’ve always gotten a good spot and it’s the least expensive garage close by that I’ve found. The interior of the RenCen has many cars and welcomes you with a huge sign in all languages. There is a conveyer in the middle that goes around showing off some of GM history with electric vehicles and the screens in the middle show a huge aquarium at times, many stories high. It is safe and has a wonderful outside area that leads to the riverside. You can see Canada and relax in one of the unique and comfortable chairs by the water. Also there are eateries in a cafeteria type environment like Burger King and some others. Not everything is always open, so if you have your heart set on an eatery or shop, call ahead or look them up on the net to see if they’re open when you plan to visit. Within walking distance are both The Joe Louis and Spirit of Detroit Monuments. I’ve never stayed at the Marriott inside the RenCen, but going here even for the day, is a day we’ll spent."
"Nice place by the Detroit Riverwalk to spend an evening at. It's the General Motors headquarters and also hosts plenty of good restaurants where one can enjoy some fancy food, drinks, ambience and service."
"Awesome place. Bunch of cool cars inside to see, a food court with a cafe and cool architecture. Step out to the back for cool river views to Windsor."
"Nice views of Canada and the Detroit River. Great restaurant on site. Marriott hotel check in could be a little better. The rooms could be updated as well. The people mover is connected to the building which makes getting around Detroit easy. The location is central and next to heart plaza. Greek town and campus martius is a short walk away."
"The GM Renaissance Center know to Detroiter’s as the “Ren Cen” is a beautiful architectural building along the Detroit riverfront. It has many amenities inside including one of the largest Marriott’s, eateries, meeting areas and GM automobiles both new and old. It has 75 floors and has a restaurant at the top overlooking Canada. It’s a fun place to visit and stay as it’s close to everything including convention centers, baseball field and museums."
