"Update: I have been contacted by someone at the company, wanting to make this right. This is appreciated, however we will be using someone else for further assistance. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We recently moved to the area and had an issue with our gas fireplace. We called Smart Energy Solutions to come out and fix the pilot assembly. The first technician that was sent out, was great, he fixed the problem with a generic pilot assembly. As he was trying to get a price on the part, whoever he was talking to told him that he could not use that part on my fireplace and that he had to take it back off. So that is what he did and then left and told me that someone from the office would be in touch. Well, a week later I called the office to see what was happening, and the person who answered the phone could not answer my question about when the parts would arrive, stating " I would have to go check the tracking, but we will call you when it is in." It was another few days before a different technician came out with the correct parts from the manufacturer. He put the first part in and it did not work out of the box, he stated it was a good thing we ordered 2 of them, after putting in the second one. This pilot assembly lasted a week until it would not light anymore, seemed to be the same problem again. I was charged for them coming to my house twice and they did not fix the issue. I contacted Smart Energy Solutions and complained that my fireplace was still not working, and I was mad for being charged twice for something they did not fix. I was told that I would still need to pay for another service call but they could discount the rates after the first hour to $75 an hour. I do not have any trust in this company and will not be using them again for my Fireplace. Every story is unique and this was mine, I feel taken advantage of by Smart Energy Solutions, but your experiences may be different. I do not recommend them for any fireplace needs, I learned my $350 lesson the hard way."

"Professional sales, service & products.. All staff/workers were knowledgeable, polite & hard working. They service what they sale. Our inspector was very impressed at the quality of workmanship. Upon seeing our wood stove so neat looking in our basement, our friend decided to have one installed in her home. They also have other services we will use: chimney cleaning, fireplace cleaning & generator maintenance. Nice to have a bussiness & workers we can trust."

"Their generators are over priced as is their wood pellets, they advertise to those who don’t need an generator in limited times. At least give a deal if you want more customers and to advertise."

"I've had limited interactions with them as I just purchased a stove from them. They were able to squeeze my install in almost a week later and were professional during install. Stove had a slight malfunction from the factory the first hour of install and they sent a repair guy out the next morning who fixed it. Overall experience so far has been great and will recommend them to others."

My wife and I had been shopping for a pellet stove and and after doing some research decided to get a high quality stove instead of a box store "bargain" Attempted to install myself and wasn't comfortable with it had John come all the way to our house 40 miles away to look at it. We decided it would be best he did the install, the job went smooth and everything was explained to me in detail and we couldn't be much happier! Thank you!"
