Holiday Inn Express Romulus / Detroit Airport, an IHG Hotel

"Great location, clean rooms. Awesome shower pressure! The only downside is they know how many people are leaving at what time on the shuttle and they only sent one shuttle. So a group of us had to wait approx 10 mins outside before another shuttle came, which also put us behind, schedule wise."

"My first interaction when I walked into the hotel was not great. The front desk staff acted as if they did not want any interactions and only spoke when they needed to. No “good morning, have a good day” nothing welcoming. Then when I checked into my room there was hair all over the room, it smelled like animal pee terribly and the duvet cover was stained. I had to pretty much clean my own room. Breakfast wasn’t great the next morning, there was hardly any food going down there and the food I did get was cold and wasn’t great at all."

"I usually don’t leave reviews for HI as I have frequented them around the country. Also, my parents own a resort through HI vacation club. But this one did not meet the HI standard. First, the room was not clean or updated. They either have a bad leak or molding in the bathroom as there were rust spots in the ceiling. The curtains were torn the bed did not look like it was clean. I was thinking of two stars, but the customer service was not good either. They only supplied us with half a roll of tissue. This is not a bid deal if they’re will to make it right. But the front desk agent said “I am not housekeeping, I work at the front desk”. I guess she felt it wasn’t her job to provide feedback. Additionally, she didn’t want to bring us additional tissue. She said “ do you want to come get it?” I explained we were getting ready to so we could catch out flight in time. Then she said she would bring it to us after she finished checking in a guest. It seems petty but I’ve come to expect a certain level of customer service from HI. Needless to say, I won’t be staying at this location moving forward. HI has kept a standard throughout the country, it’s sad this one is they way it is with the heavy price tag to stay here."

"I enjoyed this hotel. The rooms were clean, the complimentary breakfast was pleasant and delicious and the staff was friendly and professional. My Mom and I stayed for 3 days and we enjoyed each day. Thank you Holiday Inn Express for a wonderful stay."

"Hotel serves its purpose - seems pretty clean and beds aren’t bad. Absolutely NOT soundproof rooms - all night long you could hear doors slamming shut down the hall, kids yelling, even people just talking normally in the halls could be heard clear as day in the room. The wall with the adjoining door has a large hole through the drywall - this is something you would expect to have been noticed and taken care of by housekeeping. We booked through “Park Sleep & Fly” ahead of time. When doing so, my email said I owe a remaining balance of $154. When I got to the hotel, I was charged $260. Overall, I am not happy. Most likely we will NOT be back as there are plenty of other hotels in the area. With the same offerings to park and shuttle to the airport."
