"Ok, we did the pull-up in Detroit for my birthday at the Peterborough, which is located in the old Chinatown district. I have seen and heard good things about this place. I started off with a very delicious cocktail, the ghost. It was really good. The cream of coconut, along with the grapefruit juice, made it very refreshing. We then sampled some small plates, which were very good. Bou buns were the best. Then, for the main entries, we got the sesame chicken and shrimp fried rice. This is where I was a little disappointed, and it fell short of my expectations. The shrimp fried rice had really bad scorched taste. Almost like they didn't stir it enough in the hot wok, and the rice burned a little. The sesame chicken was just ok. It had a really thick coding of batter. It's just a tad bit too much for me. Overall, Peterborough was just ok. I would not make a special trip to return from Annarbor. If I did return, I would definitely stick to the small plates, which were delicious."
"My wife and I needed a date night...(4 kids, 2 jobs that don't see less than 48+ hours, generally, and a house with... 4 kids) so when the stars aligned to go out before going to see Wicked at the Detroit Opera, we wanted something 'Nice' ... food, ambiance, service ... you know, Nice. But Peterboro is so much more than 'Nice' --- the experience is perfect. Our host, Martin... you cannot NOT meet Martin... talk about feeling welcome. Sarah was amazing and always knew when to check in with us... and the whole place felt like you could stop in for a great drink in your casual threads or reserve a spot in your theater show outfits... and then, the food! We had the crispy eggplant and almond boneless chicken.... can probably eat that, EVERY day. Anyway... go try it... great investment into your life experience!"
"I think Peterboro reopened under new management but they still have the great dishes we love. Portion sizes are slightly smaller but prices seem to be the same so I think they are trying to manage during these strange economic times. Service is still amazing and food is enjoyable. We will be back."
"Wonderful service from our waitress and what might have been the general manager? We had tea, the cucumber salad which was perfectly spicy and savory, the spring rolls woth were wonderfully fresh, and my friend got the egg drop soup which she loved. I had almond chicken which was PERFECTLY breaded, not greasy or heavy. It was amazing. We will be back for sure."
"I went here for a date night and was greeted and sat immediately. The bar and decorations make a very nice atmosphere! Parking was no issue and it’s right next to a lot as well. We got the cucumber salad, chicken wontons, spare ribs, and chicken chow fun and all of them were amazing! Appetizers were brought out really fast as well as our drinks, we got the Ronin and Yuzu Sour. Our waitress Maddy was also super friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back!"
