"Dr Transue was my endocrinologist from 12 years old when I was first diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. He stayed my doctor until I turned 19. He taught me a lot and kept me healthy and stable. Im now almost 32 and still am thankful for his care."
"Dr Transue was my pediatrician (way back when they made house calls) & also took care of all 4 of my daughters. He was the only doctor that listened to me when my 1st daughter was having night terror seizures. I called him at 4am & he stayed on the phone with me for an hour, asking questions about what was happening with her & how she looked. He ran test & got her on medication. For 2 1/2 yrs drs laughed at me when I said she was having some kind of seizure. He also took excellent care of my 3rd daughter who developed T1D when she was 4yrs old. Dr Transue & his nurse Bea took excellent care of her, she loved them. No matter where I went or who I met, if they had a diabetic child. Dr Transue was their Dr & they adored him. People traveled for many miles to go to him. We moved out of state & my daughter is about to turn 31 & to this day she wishes she could go back to Dr Transue. ❤❤❤❤"
"David Transue should NOT have a licence to practice... plain and simple. When I was first diagnosed in 1986 (Jan. 15th, 1986) I was 13 years old. It was then that he told me I should never smoke, have children, and that Type 1 diabetics do not live past 40 years old. Those horrific words of negativity and almost a sort of condemnation for having T1D, changed the trajectory of my life...forever. I am now 32 years T1D, my A1C is 6.4 and I'm living a full and healthy life (with a few feet problems from diabetes), but he LIED! T1Ds live full lives, they can have children, and they DON'T DIE AT 40!!!! I fought for years against getting married and didn't allow myself to get close to family, friends, boyfriend's ..because I didn't want to fall in love, then leave a family behind, and I didn't want to love and then ultimately hurt someone by dying. Dr.Transue is also no better than that Dr. Nassar... I was 13 years old, and went to my endo appt with my father. I remember so vividly... he asked my father to step out of the room and he proceeded to do a "pelvic" exam. WHAT FOR???? I was 13... I was diabetic, not sexually active!!! He never told my father what he was doing, and I remember feeling ashamed and embarrassed, I had never been thru something that emotionally painful and confusing. It ruined some relationships, too, as I didn't want any man "touching me" down there... brought back thoughts of how this monster hurt me. I never returned to his office, and would cry and scream when my parents brought it up. I've wanted to write him many, many, many times to give him a piece of my mind these past 32 years, and I think that I am ready! Watching the Nassar proceedings has given me a sense of empowerment knowing that other women have been thru similiar and the medical world is strting to listen!!!"
