"Been a member for about 2 years now. Find another insurance if you don't want any headache."

"Local Guide, I know what you mean. Before the emergency manager, the mos that I ever paid for a dental copay was 60 bucks. I needed deep gum cleaning and they broke it down into four visits. Each visit cost me 165 bucks."

"DENCAP Dental Plans is a DHMO insurance company, not a dental office, so they do not charge you for anything other than your monthly premium. Many people are under the misconception that if you have insurance, you don't have to pay for anything. Completely wrong. Depending on what your tooth needed, if you have to spend $1K or more, you need some serious work and that is definitely not the fault of DENCAP. Dentistry is not cheap, and if you had to pay that much with insurance, I can only imagine what it would cost without insurance. In this day and age of Google, please do your research and google the cost for a root canal, core, crown, etc. It is really not hard to find out how much the actual service is. DENCAP offers a list of ALL covered procedures and what your cost is for being a member, no matter what the Dentist office charges. If you get upgrades, etc (which is clearly stated on your Sheet of Benefits), that is where an additional cost can incur. I have worked for insurance companies and dental offices and can truly say that DENCAP is an EXCELLENT insurance for people who need extensive work. Most PPO's if you pay for them individually won't even cover fillings, deep cleaning, crowns, root canals and extractions until you have had the insurance for 6 months to a year. Also, with PPO, you are capped a maximum and if you go over that (which is easy to do with 1 procedure) you do not have any benefits left for the remainder of the year. PLEASE ask questions and listen to understand before saying this insurance is bad. Plenty of people have really been helped with this insurance. You can't please all of the people all of the time. DENCAP, you have my vote!"

"This is literally the worst dental insurance I've EVER seen, you will be better off going to the dental school standing in line. I have them through my employer and I still have to pay $1000 to get my tooth fixed " What's the purpose of having insurance". WHAT DO I NEED DENCAP FOR!!!! Employers don't do your employees like this please find some place they can get help."

"They charge for unexpected dental procedures at the end of your visit while you are under anesthetics and numbing agents. I don't like surprises when spending my money. Tell me (ALL) cost up front so I can make informed decisions with a clear head."
