"The cleanest and most comfortable place I've ever stayed and I've stayed in rooms far more than 4x this price. This is like staying with your grandmother if your grandmother were the sweetest human being and most fantastic hostess, with the most amazing house and all the cooking/baking skills that grandma's are known for! If I could give this magical property and the phenomenal woman (Sheila) who created it a million stars, it would not be enough. Hidden back from the road but close to town on a magnificent 14 acre estate with a private pond with a bridge to a tiny island... I found our room and Sheila when I was near madness from not sleeping in an atrocious room I booked blind online not knowing the area well, only that I needed to move near my family member who has been very ill. When Sheila encountered my husband and I, I hadn't slept a total of 6 hours in 2 days. I was tired to the point of slurring words. We had looked at homes 2 days and everything was either awful or needed more repair than the sales price. After a long nap, we woke up at 8 PM, went to find food and the house was silent as if it were our own. The next morning, after a delectable hot bath and a full nights sleep on a bed so lovely, I wish I could buy it from her... My husband and I were eating our delicious homecooked meal of eggs and bacon and homemade bread with unlimited, delicious fresh coffee and looking over the most recent MLS list from the realtor, hating every single thing on it...We thought we had sacrificed our anniversary planned time off to find a home to no avail. And then Sheila comes in walking briskly, with the energy of excitement that immediately made me smile despite my dismay with my selections to choose from that day... "Look what just popped up!" she says as she shows me her phone. The home of our dreams! Meets every check mark. I call the realtor and say we're starting with this home, not on his list and he met us there within the hour. Well...we are moving there soon! Thank you, Sheila, for the warm hospitality even when you met someone who probably appeared to be not a high-quality person, for the amazing space you gave us, the wonderful details that made every bit of it seem like home, and most of all: for leading us to the home we were seeking and making the whole trip the best experience of our lives thus far. I feel like you were a fairy godmother in a miraculous journey we had there. I cannot thank you enough, nor can I admire what you created any more deeply. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I want to come say hi and bring a gift when I become a new "neighbor"."
"The inn keeper is a nice lady! The decor is a little dated, the rooms feel a little off. Dishware was also very dusty. We also had a curfuffle about the breakfast, it was cold and we weren't filled so we helped ourselves to some plain biscuits in the fridge. We didn't ask first and we take responsibility for that, but the lady got pretty upset. Idk, I'm pretty sure the $150 I payed can cover a thing of biscuits, lmao. Cute spot if you don't mind the oddities."
"Our first good impression lasted throughout our stay here. Breakfast was delicious, accompanied by fresh, ripe fruit. Our attentive and conscientious host made our stay very delightful. One of the things I most enjoyed (we were here in July) was taking my coffee out to the porch after breakfast to listen to the birds, take in the well manicured grounds, and feel the gentle breeze."
"I've visited 3 times in the past year and taken friends each time. I love the comfortable feel of the home. The owner Sheila is friendly and wants to make sure each guest is taken care of. Great breakfast. Very clean and comfortable. Don't forget to take some local honey home with you. ;)"
"The best place ever to stay. Sheila the owner, is very attentive to your needs. She will make whatever you want for breakfast however, I would definitely leave that up to her because she makes the most fantastic breakfast ever! The rooms are comfortable and each has a theme. This is the only place I stay when I visit Allegan. I have never been disappointed."
