The Earl of Charlevoix

"The Earl was a very nice place to stay in Charlevoix Michigan. We stayed for two nights and were able to take in some of the sites in the surrounding area. A close enough drive to Petoskey and Harbor Springs. We went a little bit further and drove through the “tunnel of trees”. And what a beautiful site to see in mid to late October! Back to The Earl. We came up with modern – lodge décor. And everything was comfortable, clean and filled with amenities. From a continental breakfast with an amazing coffee machine (my choice was an americano coffee and my daughter loved the hot chocolate). It also had many other beverages to choose from. The breakfast also included an assortment of oatmeals, pastries, bagels, English muffins, and hard-boiled eggs. It was enough to get me through our morning adventures. The room also included a mini fridge, safe, coffee, and tv. The huge window even out the back of the hotel in our room was also pleasant to see. We didn’t have to look at some downtown business, just another well-kept house. All in all it was a very nice stay and I would definitely recommend it! Great job to all, at The Earl!"

"I had the pleasure of staying for a quick overnight trip last week. I was pleasantly surprised! The room was very nicely decorated. There seems to have been a lot of attention paid to details. I loved it! We went down to the bar for a couple of drinks and appetizers. The bar area was just as nice! The food, however, was not! I would have thought that such a nice hotel would a least have decent food, it was barely edible. You would do better to not offer any food at all. I would definitely stay again, but I would go elsewhere for something to eat."

"I've stayed here for work a couple times already, and really enjoyed staying here. There are not many options of lodging in Charlevoix but I would say this one is the best. The staff is friendly, they don't seem to discriminate based on age, the rooms are nice, and the gym was decent. You might have to park on the street (but not a long walk by any means) and I didn't use the pool or rooftop bar so I can't speak on that. Excited to be staying here again in a few weeks."

"We love seeing Erin every time we come! She’s so attentive and welcoming - best service at any boutique hotel in MI by far. She makes this place even better! It’s small and quaint, feels like a ski chalet. Always have a great stay. Highly recommend!"

"Let's get something out of the way. it's not a 4-star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It's a newer hotel, and it's apparent. Where it goes downhill is the breakfast and the parking situation. The breakfast is a joke, with the bar size plates and the plastic cutlery and the pre-packaged food put out to be served. Parking is another issue since they dont have much of it. Park on the street is what you do. The room itself is nice, but the dining chair table combo is not a fit in the room as it ends up blocking the closet. The bed is not the right fit for the platform, so it keeps moving, and the pillows keep sinking. There is no microwave in the room. The bathroom, although modern, lacks thought in utilizing the giant shower with more appropriate shower heads, etc. Honestly, except for the location, this hotel is a giant waste of my hard earned money."
