Mario's Restaurant

"I like the character of the joint. We were on the fence about where to go. We knew we wanted Italian. My mom told us to try Mario's, she's from Cass corridor, and says she used to come in all the time. When we first walked in, nobody was hosting. We ended up being sat down by who I can only imagine is Mario himself. The gentleman who's in all the pictures on the wall. I'm not a huge drinker, but he made a joke about how we came to an Italian joint but don't like wine! I thought it was funny and light hearted. Despite not being greeted I really liked the atmosphere. My boyfriend got the beef Sicilian I think , and I got the lamb chops. Which was so good. Melted right in my mouth. Medium was perfectly pink. For me. Manhattan clam chowder was good, slightly cheesy taste which was diff. Calamari and the fresh marinara was great. We also had live music. Was a great date night. Romantic and the wine was doing its job :) Pricier than usual. But the average per person is $20 nowadays so, it's fine for once in awhile."

"Saturday lunch with friends. Terrible experience! Service was poor to non existent. Waitresses explained she was a new hire, but that doesn’t explain the very long wait for our food. Soup was cold, chicken parm was thin and tasteless. Shrimp cocktail was presented with unusually small shrimp. One couple we were with had to leave without eating since they did not anticipate such a long wait for food.- they left after 1 1/2 hrs without eating. Overall an experience I would not be willing to repeat. Complaints to staff resulted in little to no action. Stay away from this disaster! Update: Management responded to this review requesting the name of the sever. I don’t know her name but I think management should internally reflect on their training process and supervision policies rather than blaming a hard working new hire. At the time we asked to speak to manager but were told no one was available. That I think is the biggest problem."

"LOVED it excellent food. I had one of the best steaks I've ever eaten and my husband had pasta. It was delicious, will definitely go back. They also have shuttle services to the theaters ect"

"First time dining here. Atmosphere was Beautiful!! Waiter Was Respectful and Polite!! Food Was Delicious!!! Valet Guy was Awesome!! Gotta Check Em Out If You Haven’t Yet!!"
