Priority Health

"I'm a type 1 diabetic. The omnipod 5 has been out for a couple years now and PH still doesn't have it listed under the covered medications for their chronic conditions rider. I was told at the end of 2023 that it was going to be added, since Insulet, the maker or Omnipod, is discontinuing the older systems, which were covered at 100% prior to meeting the deductible. Not only that, but the chronic conditions rider is supposed to cover ALL insulin pump and cgm supplies. I was informed by MULTIPLE people at PH that it would be covered. Yet, when I went to the pharmacy today to fill the script, I was told it wasn't covered, and after a lengthy phone call with PH being bounced around between several departments, I was told that it is in fact NOT COVERED, and there was never any plan to add it. With the old system being discontinued, and the new system being the only one available moving forward, The need to get this updated ASAP and get it on the list of covered medications. I'm sure I'm the only Type 1 diabetic this is affecting. This will help diabetes manage tremendously, yet they are keeping it his out of reach with incredibly high medication cost and high individual deductibles. Do better, Priority Health. I will most likely be dropping the coverage and going with my new employers plan."
