"We brought our 3 year old to Brains for a second opinion ASD evaluation after a questionable experience elsewhere. Every step along the way, we've experienced great service. Sandy in intake was very helpful answering all my questions about scheduling, billing, and what to expect from the process before we went ahead and booked our appointment. My daughter was understandably shy when we arrived for her in person assessment, but Dr. Manor and the SLP Emily were both so warm and approachable that she was able to open up very quickly. Their process of assessment was very thorough, but also little-kid friendly; my daughter not only was very comfortable throughout the evaluation, but also had a lot of fun! The report we received after arrived just a few days later and was so detailed that we only had a few follow up questions, which Dr. Manor answered promptly. After our first evaluation at another center, we were cautious about being pushed into a broad diagnosis and certain one-size-fits-all treatment plan. That was not what happened at Brains, and I'm so glad we were able to get an accurate assessment of our daughter with a plan moving forward that's best suited for HER needs."

"The wait was lengthy, but it seemed to be the case everywhere I checked in the area for an adult assessment. Finally, after three months, I had my first appointment. The assessment and testing felt thorough and accurate. However, receiving my assessment back took some time. Once I did get it, I found it to be accurate, and the results were explained well. Unfortunately, my issues began with billing and persisted for nearly six months. I opted for a payment plan, and over the course of those six months, I made over 10 calls in an attempt to resolve billing issues. Regrettably, I rarely spoke to someone who seemed knowledgeable, and promised callbacks were seldom received. I would end a call thinking my billing problems were resolved, only to discover they weren't. Despite my efforts, collections were threatened a couple of times. This was despite the calls I made and the attempts to secure a payment plan. It was a disaster, and based on this issue alone, I would recommend considering another facility for testing unless you plan on paying for everything at the time of service."

"Definitely agree with the reviews about how this place mainly just gets the job done. I didn’t care for how the evaluation was just sent with no follow up or anything. The evaluators didn’t even evaluate my son a whole 2 hours. Our drive in was longer than the actual evaluation. The report was also poorly drafted and contradicting at times. They stated my 3 year didn’t ask to play as if most 3 year olds do. They report read as if he wasn’t 3. Him not asking to play with toys also have no relevance to autism or details nothing for a parent looking for answers."

"Fantastic clinic. Best place to get help for your child if they are struggling. Most thorough evaluations in the state of Michigan. Both of our children have been seen here. It is hard to get into this clinic given the high demand, but if you can wait it out (we had to wait 6 months for one of our children) it is absolutely worth the wait. The reports they write are exceedingly thorough. I felt like we finally had answers and clarity on what was going on, and information our children's school could use to help them learn more effectively. Staff and doctors here are first-rate."
