"Denies all claims saying its secondary insurance while my bills remain unpaid. Bought through the federal marketplace as my ONLY insurance and I pay them $1000 a month. Numerous calls...all they can tell me is that their system flagged it! Still waiting for a resolution , but I did cancel and do not recommend to anyone"

"Was told my shoe inserts were covered by a representative on the phone. Paid 436$ and podiatrist billed insurance. Called two more times to confirm they were covered, every time I was assured they would be covered. PHP then denied the inserts claim when they received it and says they aren’t covered. Was told by a representative to file a grievance because it clearly states in my records that I was told it was covered three different times and they denied my grievance claim. Switched insurances immediately and I make sure all my coworkers know to not choose this insurance plan. They will straight up lie to you about what’s covered. They now have a recorded message when you call that says just because a representative says it’s covered doesn’t mean it really is, that is a scam and should be considered fraud."

"Horrible company and insurance. Bait and switch benefits once you enroll. Refuse to have any urgency to get meds approved. Meds approved by a "pharmacist" who knows nothing about you but thinks they can determine what you need better than your doctor. Other than the reps being nice there is nothing else good about this company and I wish I could change. Instead I'm left choosing between paying out of pocket for life saving meds and .eds that make it so I can work or feeding my kids. My kids are first so my health will deteriorate quickly and the money will be gone as I can't work given the lack of knowledge and urgency"

"PHP is easily the most crooked insurance company I have ever had the displeasure of using. They will do anything in their power to deny a claim and screw you over. At the beginning of this year I had an accident which required emergency surgery. Due to being outside of the php network area (which mind you is very small), I was forced to get emergency surgery from an out of network provider. In emergency situations, out of network care is supposed to be covered as in network. However, as I stated prior, php is as crooked as they come, finding any way possible to not cover in network. I, as well as the hospital where I received care have heard the run around several times from them now even though it is well known that the surgery was an emergency. Saying it would be taken care of only for it not to be. Because of php I am now stuck with a $10,000 bill for a surgery which was an emergency. Completely crooked. DO NOT use this insurance company. They will screw your over."

"They do not updated their primary care provider list even though it supposedly a very extensive process. Customer service representative generally don't listen to what you are asking and therefore are unable to provide good service. I constantly fight with them over covered benifits and prescription cost are high. Overall dissatisfied and not sure why I pay them $200+ dollars a month. Update: As of 01/05/2022 service has not improved and when calling the customer service line the representative hangs up before allowing a response or you to provide your name. This is after the wait time has increased to speak to a rep."
