"Our server (Stormi) was very attentive and friendly. The bar manager (sorry I can't remember his name but he was tall with dark hair) chatted with us while we waited for our friends. The electric lemonade and bloody Mary were so good, especially for the price! Dinner was very good and we had no room for dessert. We have Ben here before and always enjoy it!!"

"Treated to a steak dinner here. We found this AMAZING place by chance. We will return, on purpose. This is incredible! I am speechless. BEST SIRLOIN I've ever had. Not to mention the perfect sides. And frosty, citrus tinged tall beer! This is a local diamond. ...I'm a steak lover.... had steaks from many places, all across the country, Inc my own grill. I can't say enough about the quality of the meat, sides, and sauces. Each bite was Heaven on Earth. Melt in your mouth high heat grilled, steak. It was divine! Absolutely delicious! No matter what you pick - it's all good. Way to "Rock" your meat, Black Rock! 10 stars/out of 5. We'll be back, can't wait! WN"

"My friend commented to me one time that "As long as it not my last meal, it's a good meal" . We visited Black Rock Bar&Grill in Grand Rapids while entertaining a friend in town. I had heard about Black Rock on radio commercials and the thought of cooking on a lava rock at the table sounded fun and entertaining. When walking in we noticed the high ceilings and numerous TVs throughout. We also noticed that the floor was a bit slippery like it needed cleaned. We were seated quickly and our server was pleasant but we soon realized she was new to the service industry and untrained. At the risk of sounding rude I will stop there. But it was surprising and was even comical when we asked for a wine caraf the manager came over to inform us that they "do not serve craft wine" when we explaiined to her the purpose of what the wine caraf does she said she could just "crack the bottle open early" if we wanted. The restaurant was smokey and needs a better ventilation system. They were also out of several menu items such as rib eye steak, 8 oz fillet, baked potato, wine selections, even coffee creamer. The bill was incorrect and had to be reprinted as we were charged for steak they were out of and incorrect drink orders. All in all an entertaining evening on many levels. The food was just OK and the overall experience was the same. The novelty of cooking ones own steak on a black rock could not overcome the many issues we experienced."

"Our first time here, the service was excellent and the food was amazing. After, joining the VIP club, we treated ourselves to one of the offers for an appetizer. The Spinach Artichoke Dip was fabulous. Served in a volcanic rock bowl with pita chips, it stayed warm throughout the meal. The Steak and Lobster special was so delicious, grilling your own steak and lobster was a fun experience and very easy on the volcanic rock. Genius idea!! Highly recommend and will be back!"

"This was our first experience and it was amazing!!! The food was delicious the drinks were very good and the dessert was amazing. Mason was our server and he did an amazing job!! He checked back several times to ensure we were satisfied and if we needed anything. That's excellent service!! We will definitely make another visit soon!!! We came her for our sons birthday and were not disappointed."
