"Service was slow. Food was okay but not spectacular. After seeing other pictures of the octopus from other peoples experience, I was quite disappointed with mine. The sweet potatoes were just boiled and flavorless. Overall, my experience was underwhelming and not remarkable. Probably will not plan to come back here"
"My favorite new spot for fajitas and whole red snapper! The server was attentive, the atmosphere was perfect, have dined in different parts of the restaurant and it feels like 4 different interiors! The booths are great for a more intimate meal. The flavors of the food are beyond amazing. The red snapper is one of the best in town."
"WOW! In a city like Grand Rapids it’s hard to find something unique, genuinely one-of-a-kind. The space itself has been completely redone, creating a colorful, lively and inviting environment with an incredible amount of seating area and some fantastically kind staff. The food is seriously top-notch: on par with some of the top restaurants downtown. What makes RIO truly spectacular is the selection of dishes, presenting diners with options found nowhere else in the city (at least as far as I’m aware of). And those dishes that could be found elsewhere, likely can’t be found better. We were truly stunned by the quality of the food at RIO and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something a little different, and downright delicious."
"Newer place so I expect some ruff issues, service, while smiles and friendly talking, was slow and with only 2 other tables its strange to wait for so long to get anything. We also wondered why the other 2 tables got a bread plate? And the table after us got one but we did not, we would have asked but it was rare to have contact. The girls were nice though. Food was good, chicken was cooked and the sides were good but nothing was over the too great or stood out from many other places. The traditional drink was very unique and is worth trying, was my favorite thing. It is weird seeing all the Chinese/Japanese/Mexican/Peruvian items inside but its a good blend I feel."
