"Umi had a lovely atmosphere, great service, and great food overall. Compared to other sushi restaurants I have been to, they did not charge extra for side sauces. Their tempura rolls were warm when presented, which is always a great plus. I was a little bit disappointed with my salmon tempura roll as I am used to having it more simple without many additions, but the pros definitely out shine the cons. This one of the top sushi restaurants I have been to thus far in the grand rapids area."
"This was recommended to us for our first sushi experience. It did not disappoint! We brought our three boys and they had chicken and steak with rice. I'm not personally a big fish lover and I really enjoyed what we got. Everything was presented well and it service was good. We will be back!"

"Very clean place. We went here for our daughters 16th birthday, we have never eaten here before and wanted to try it out. We were a party of 6 so we had a large diversity of food ordered. Thank you Katlyn for being a very good waitress even though you were incredibly busy. We always had what we needed like full drinks. We had 5 different types of sushi and steak and shrimp. It was a fun night. The only thing that we have a 4 star for was the eel. Seams like that could be a little better, but all In all very good food and probably as fresh as sea food can get in Michigan. It was prepared and staged on our plates very well. Thank you, Umi."
