"I switch my kids over to this day. Here. They are very professional, and they do care a lot about their children's there. They're very outgoing. My kids love going to daycare every morning. The great thing about this daycare is that they do transportation for school"

"I've been a stay at home mom for 2 years now, my fiance and I decided it was time for my youngest daughter to go to daycare part-time. We've looked at many daycares but what intrigued us most about this particular daycare was that they were a black owned business, no enrollment fee and basically checked everything off the box we were looking for. We decided to tour the facility and immediately loved the warm small atmosphere. We had someone give us a tour of the daycare and I had many questions pertaining to safety, covid, curriculum. The person that had given us a tour could not answer all the questions and I felt that she was guessing on some of the answers. One of my main concerns was if masks and temperature checks were mandatory for their staff and she replied, yes absolutely! We left and my fiance loved it but I did have some reservations. We decided to enroll her and at that time, the 2 year old room was waitlisted but they were opening up another room soon. I called to check if the room was open and I was no longer waitlisted and they said she can start whenever, they'll hold us a spot soon as they receive all the necessary forms. I decided to bring all the forms in, they buzzed me in and the person that greeted me had a mask on her chin. I told her my daughter was starting next week and if I can see the 2 year old room that was now open, she replied "the room is not opened yet but I can show you our 2 year old room." I said okay but I did call and someone told me the new 2 year old room was open. She opened the door to the 2 year old room and there were two teachers in the room without a mask, wasn't on their chin, NO WHERE IN SIGHT. You had kids running around with a snotty nose, no shoes no socks. I peaked in the baby's room and same thing, no mask in sight. I asked the lady who was giving me a tour again (same lady), I thought masks were required for teachers, she replied masks can be pulled down outside of the classroom which didn't make sense in this scenario because all the teachers were in the classroom with children. I left and spoke with my fiance about it that night and I told him, I don't know if I want her going to that daycare. My daughter did not start school that week. I sent two emails to get in touch with the Director and I finally called and spoke with her and she reassured me that it won't happen again and she'll speak to her staff. I told her why my daughter didn't start and she said she would hold my spot. I felt better that she would handle it so I called the following Monday to let them know my daughter was coming and I was told they had given my spot away. I told her the reason my daughter didn't start was because no teachers were wearing a mask and I felt uncomfortable. She replied, I'll call the Director and I'll call you back, I've been waiting for 2 weeks now. My gut told me not to pursue this daycare because they're not following the health department orders, not reliable, not trustworthy. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt because my fiance liked it and it was a black owned business and I'm all for supporting. It's a shady daycare, I would be aware."
