"The site looks amazing. The entry way was cool. The room was cleaned and okay. The TV was so distorted, good luck! Then the beds were so bad they sunk in and the next morning was ruff. Then go for breakfast at 8:30-9 am and they were out of some foods. I asked the staff member for more gravy. She started coming up with reasons for not having more. She kept telling me off. I asked her a couple of time to just stop talking to me. I don’t want to argue anymore this morning. She then was angry because I didn’t want dry biscuits. The oranges were dryer out and bad. Honestly, this was a terrible experience. We travel about 6-8 months out of the year and this is why we invested into a 5th wheel. So that we don’t have to go thru experiences like this. However it is Feb in WI. So there are no parks open or we would have never stayed here. Worst part is. My wife and I had to use separate beds because of how the beds sink in and make you so uncomfortable."
"BE AWARE. Our hockey team reserved rooms at The Waters of Minoqua in December 2023. I received confirmation of my room rate during this time. On February 14, 2024, roughly a week away from our hockey tournament, I received an email from the hotel stating that my room type and rate changed (LITERALLY MORE THAN DOUBLE THE AMOUNT OF MY ORIGINAL CONFIRMED RATE) without any discussion or phone call to me whatsoever. Hence, I would never recommend this place to anyone, especially if dealing with a big event (such as our hockey tournament). I’ve passed this information along to my organization for awareness and I hope others do the same."
"Have stayed here multiple times before and were always pleased, but our stay last night was not pleasant. The room was great, but our visit to The Pub was the worst ever. Apparently there are some short staff issues, but there were also issues with availability of food items, drink options or even a bar tender that didn't know how to tend bar! If there are issues that cannot allow the facility to operate at 100%, this should be addressed at the time of booking or at least provide additional amenities to at least try to make up for short comings. It just was unacceptable!!"
"We have stayed at The Waters of Minocqua many times over the last couple of years. The new rooms are very nice with the hardwood floors, cleaner. Suggestion: Put mats at the entrance of the room or in the room would be nice especially in the winter to put boots/shoes, the floors get full of water from melting snow carried in. There is a few complaints my husband and I both have regarding the restaurant, The Waters Pub Restaurant & Lounge, needs attention. All the chairs at the bar and at all the bar tables are wobbly and dangerous. You sink when you sit on them. The service was terrible, due to lack of collaboration with the associates that were on duty. Our first night at the restaurant there were quite a few tables in the bar area and banquet hall area that were full of dirty dishes and did not get cleaned off for literally hours until customers started coming in, it wasn't busy. Didn't appreciate the kitchen cook coming out into the bar area with gloves "on" touching everything and then blowing his nose with gloves "on" and then going back in the kitchen, not one night but two nights in a row. I know prices are higher in the restaurant food/beer/liquor because of the "convenience" but these prices are too high, especially if we are guests there. There are some other complaints regarding the restaurant, but it can wait. We will just be dining across the street at the Island City Lanes within walking distance of The Waters. In closing, we still love The Waters."
"Our checking in was excellent! One of the most friendly and helpful person we’ve ever experienced. The room was good. Two things in the bathroom that could use a little attention: railing in the bathtub and check the very noisy fan. Continental breakfast has a nice variety with healthy options. Pool area is fun and well maintained. Love the whirlpool indoor/outdoor. We make it a point to come at least once a year - especially to celebrate our wedding anniversary!"
