"Checked in and the lobby smelled of cigarette smoke. Had to call a phone number to reach the front desk clerk. The pool and hot tub are out of service with shades drawn so you can’t even see it. The room appeared clean but only half the few outlet there were in the room actually works. It’s not a comfortable place. Would not recommend ever to anyone."

"Sketch.. $179 for 1 queen bed and 1 Dog..xtra $15, online pool and hot tub was available, unfortunately both were under maintenance, was warned about people stealing by owner, rooms weren’t clean smudges on mirrors, lamps broke dirty toilets . Free breakfast was a joke, nothing in the vending machines. Great location, but a insult for the price."

"So this place is a rundown place with no pool or hot tub which they advertise is open. Rooms were dirty, night service is horrible at front desk. They wouldn't provide extra towels. When we loomed at beds in first room, yep had to move rooms, beds looked like someone crapped on it, disgusting. They did move us to new room. This is bottom of barrel place that has no maintenance crew period. Security is a joke, outside doors don't lock, looks like a landfill outside. Do not recommend this place at all."

"Unfortunately this place needs a lot of work. I have stayed here several times for business over the last 3 years and every time things seem to be worse. The pool which is heralded on the sign out front has not been open for at least 3 years. The housekeeping has also declined to the point that it's apparently non-existent at this point. The rooms in general have never been the best but having paint fall from the ceiling while your taking a shower is a new low. I noted several items that were expired in the breakfast area so I would definitely skip eating any of the food there. I tried to explain my concerns to the gentleman at the front desk after calling the phone number on the placard to have him meet me, but I could tell the conversation was going nowhere. I later contacted Choice Hotels to go on record with the concerns. They were very understanding and indicated that they would be looking into the matter. I will end with this. I would avoid this establishment until such time that the health and cleanliness issues are resolved. Personally I will not be back."

"Was there for a fishing trip so we didn't need much but it was bad. as someone mentioned earlier in a post we had room 113 also. it had mold in the shower ceiling. wasn't vacuumed well, no screen on window, no lock on window, only a stick to brace it shut. no working pool ,no working hot tub (looking forward for a relaxing hot tub. just all around shoddy for the Northwoods pleasure might want to check in somewhere else"
