Villa Serena Senior Apartments

"My experience so far has not been pleasant. The communication is terrible and I am only trying to check the status of my father’s application of which he completed and signed it on January 8, 2024. It was hand-delivered on January 10, 2024 and I was told that it would take about 2 weeks for verification and someone would be in touch. Then on February 8, 2024, I received a call from my father informing his social worker contacted the apartments for a status check and she was told that they did not have an application. So of course I called immediately because I personally dropped the application off so I figured that was an error. Well when I spoke with someone they asked for his name and what method I used to drop the application off, I was put on hold then she came back and said I will give you a call back tomorrow (February 9, 2024) for sure and I gave her my phone number. Well Friday came and left and no call back but I was still being patient and just thought that I should wait until next week. So I decided to give this another shot and called on February 14, 2024 and was told to call back the next day again (February 15, 2024) and this time to ask for Maryella. I called and spoke with Maryella (I guess she was so hesitant) but I still continued the reason for my call and she put me on hold for about 17 minutes and I know this because I work from home so I was using that time to work, however I was very annoyed. Then she comes back on the line and says the property manager has your father’s application but she is in a meeting and she would have her call me back. I immediately expressed to her how many times I have been told someone will call me back and it’s not happening but she assured me she would have the manager contact me back. You all should know the rest because now I am here posting…….NO CALL BACK RECEIVED…..I only wanted to know if he was approved or denied so we could move forward, even if the application was lost as it appeared to be, then someone should have just said that as mistakes happen all the time so I would have re-sent it…..but I guess at this point it really does not matter because if we can’t get through these simple formalities I wonder about him living there. And to think I already have an aunt currently living there…..WOW :("

"I am on a wait list. Found an incoming call on my phone, made from Villa Serena number. But no message nor a voice mail. I called the office number from which the call was originated and left a message. So far no one got back to me, which speaks volumes. Poor communication so what you expect when you live there? I don't think so."

"My mom lived here for 2 years before finding a better place to live. My mom’s main concern as was as mine, is the smoking. The building is supposed to be smoke free but the residents a 100% smoke in their apartments. My mom and I both would smell it coming through her vents and in the halls. I understand this is a multi unit building and everyone can’t be monitored. But management put forth zero efforts to stop it, prevent it or neutralize it. They made no attempts whatsoever to enforce non smoking rules. My mom even found out after she complained about a specific person, management would tell the person who reported them. If it were not for the smoking, she would have stayed."

"My grandma lives in this apartment on the 8th floor. She called the leasing office several times on the lady in apartment 824. About the noise a baby crying all night running up and down the hallway. Let alone she had family members who lives with her. 3+ her. This is unacceptable. We tried calling the residents hot line and we still have not heard back."

"A relative of mine has experience bed bugs. Can’t get dryers hot enough to kill them in his clothes. Villa Serena’s treatment works slowly if at all. Beware!"
