City View Apartments

"The view is definitely very good, and the pool area and deck are definitely good features of this apartment complex. However, the office managers are very difficult to get in touch with. During my three years living there, there were at least 10 times during business hours where I tried to go to the office to talk to the office manager about something, and she was not there. Additionally, whenever I had an issue whether it was trying to negotiate a new lease or I needed clarification on something, the office was not very responsive via email. I would have to follow-up with them, while they never seemed too interested in helping me with my concerns. The best example of this was after I moved out, and I did not hear anything about my security deposit after a month. I reached out and asked them to verify I was getting it back and that they sent it to the right address. I was often met with answers such as "Let me check on the status of that" but then they would never get back to me. I had to be the one to reach back out to them and continue to remind them over the next 1.5 months that my problem was not being solved. This example was pretty consistent with my experience dealing with management during my time living there as well. Otherwise, the apartment complex is quiet, and I never had any issues with neighbors. I will say if you live on the bottom floor like me you may experience problems with bugs like I did for my first two years living there."

"Horrible customer service horrible place to live. They are liars and thief's and they commit illegal practices. Please stay away for your own sake. Also Lindsey is the most unprofessional leasing agent I’ve ever worked with, horrible customer service and a complete lack of care."

"We have applied for a unit . Everything was great in the beginning of the application process but shortly there after went down hill greatly. The employee on site Lindsey was professional until she wasn’t. She was late 45 minutes to our pre scheduled appointment and her response “Oh darn I’m sorry well since you’re here…” with zero consideration or remorse for wasting our valuable time during the workday as they refuse to meet at a responsible time. Second I would like to state the illegal practices of withholding the lease agreement for my review until AFTER YOU PAY the $600 dollar deposit. After much effort Lindsay said she is willing to “break policy” and allow us to review the lease before signing . I’m sorry Lindsey this is a literal law. I have reached out to the parent company for city view with zero response. I would highly recommend to think twice before making a commitment to a community that has zero regard to ethical business practice. On plus side the view of the city was great !"

"STAY AWAY!! Manors on Main (in Newport, owned by city view) is in violation of many building codes. Management is only worried about paychecks and not the security of tenants."

"HORRIBLE place to live. 0/10 would not recommend. Everything is cheaply made ESPECIALLY the floors. The staff is ran by people who are very inexperienced and are rarely there. The plumbing is horrendous, my sink got clogged multiple times within my first week there and I was blamed for it + had to pay a fee when clearly it was because of past and current tenants since all the plumbing is connected. And also if you have roommates, the walls are paper thin so there’s no privacy and you can hear every little thing everyone does throughout the entire apartment."
