"Stayed here a few months during a work contract. Place was descent. There were several car break-in’s during our short time, luckily not ours. The apartments were ok and staff was mostly responsive."
"I lasted for about 4 months here and ultimately decided I had to move out. Walls are thin as others have mentioned. As a night shifter, I would sleep with ear plugs and white noise and still could hear loud music, babies being yelled at and crying, couples arguing and lord knows what else. We would get emails from management almost weekly about car thefts on the property, warning us to get steering wheel locks. I think it was nice of them to keep residents informed of crimes but i was shocked at the amount of them. One time I walked past 3 children in the doorway smoking weed. I mailed some packages to my apartment in my first week here that were stolen. Manager suggested I send packages to the front desk where they could safeguard them, however as a night shifter I am almost never awake when the office is open. So I started sending packages to amazon lockers and friends’ houses. Roaches were an issue. Management was very prompt, but their solution was to put two small roach traps in the kitchen and bathroom. The roach problem never really went away. I finally made the decision to move out after receiving a letter from management that someone had been murdered on the property. I have tried to follow the news to see if they have found the suspects, but as far as I know they are still out there…??? Correct me if I’m wrong. Overall I like that their staff is prompt and mostly friendly and approachable, but I unfortunately could never make myself feel at home. The staff and rent price are the best parts about this place. Everything else makes this apartment a bad fit for me."
"Listen, there is in unit washer and dryer as well as a dishwasher. These are pretty much the only pros living at Apex. Other than that the walls are super thin, nothing during the building process was properly measured. They keep talking about amenities that they said were going to be put in a year ago (playground, pool, etc) but fail to supply. This is not a kid friendly complex, due to there being no specific area for families to go, the kids will often be seen running around the street of the complex as well as using the stairwells to play in. This is NOT a safe place to live. Luckily I have never had my car broken into, but have heard of plenty from other tenants about the security issue. Not to mention tonight our apartment complex became a literal CRIME SCENE, gun shots are heard pretty frequently in the neighborhood but now we've had it happen inside of our complex just out on the sidewalk. To make a long story short, do not live here, you don't get what you pay for and ultimately its not as safe as they try to make you believe."
"A good place to rent for the price compared to other apartments/buildings in Cincinnati. Management was always professional, very kind, and helpful! Pay your rent on time and keep your unit clean (in the shape you moved into it) and you won’t have any issues with management!! … Also, if you are a quiet tenant (no blaring music or screaming/fighting) then management will never bother you lol. The unit itself was very clean and nicely updated! I had a 1bed/1bath. I loved having an in-unit washer and dryer. If you put in a maintenance request, you’ll receive help asap which is nice. I had a ground unit without a balcony/patio and had no issues with bugs. There are multiple dumpsters throughout each parking lot which makes taking the trash out very convenient. There is a small dog park/grassy area if you have pets. There is also a small, but nice, workout room (it was usually always empty when I went). Depending on the building you’re in, there is usually a lot of parking available right in front of your building. The immediate surrounding area isn’t the best, but you can always drive to a nearby park or walking trail to feel safe (especially walking around in the evening). There is a Kroger a few minutes down the road, a Sam’s club 5mins away, and a Walmart about 20mins away along with multiple gas stations and some parks/trails nearby (including Mt. Airy forest…2 of the pictures below are of Mt. Airy forest in the fall). You are also about 15-20mins from downtown and 15mins or less from UC’s main campus! Overall, I enjoyed living here because of the price, the updated/clean unit, and management. However, as with any apartment/complex, there are some cons. Management does their best to bring in “good” tenants, but unfortunately a decent amount of the tenants and/or their visiting guests litter in the parking lots daily (even though there are dumpsters right by each building) and they often blare music in their units and/or in the parking lot. There were some car break-ins during the year, but I never had any issues because I never left anything of value in plain sight in my car. Also, as I said before, the immediate surrounding area isn’t the best…you’ll see some sketchy stuff and suspicious cars/people from time to time, if not daily. On the flip side, there are tenants at the Apex who are kind, considerate, quiet, and clean! Also, management does their best and they do a great job despite who and what they deal with on a daily basis."
"My wife and I lived here a year. Overall it suited our needs. PROS: •Management was fantastic. The office staff was always kind, polite, helpful, and seemed like they cared about your well-being. •The services provided were always up to date. Snow plows the morning of a snow storm, weekly lawn care, the grounds were cleaned of litter daily (more on that in a bit). •The units are modern and contemporary. The unit itself is what sold me and my wife. In unit washer and dryer are a big plus •Decent workout facility with the basics. Again, modern and updated. Note that office staff will let you in for free when they are there. For 24 hour access you will pay a one time fee of $50 for a specialized key. CONS: • 90% of the tenants seem to be very kind people, however the 10% bad ones bring the place down a few points. •We heard loud music many times from our neighbor at all hours. After a few complaints this problem went away. •Every day select individuals would throw their litter into the parking lot. On a Sunday evening be prepared to see lots of fast food containers in the parking lot (management only cleans Monday through Friday). This is not to knock on management, but a knock on the poorly raised individuals. •There were a few car break ins during our stay. Our property was never touched in any way (we never left valuables out). Just keep note of what you leave in your car. •The area surrounding the property is not the nicest Summary: If you are a college student or young professional, the Apex is a respectable option. The staff is fantastic and are happy to help you out. They take their job seriously. The units are updated and nice. Rent is good compared to Cincy overall. 95% of the time you will feel safe and your property will be too (unless you leave valuables in plain sight). I would recommend the Apex if you want a very nice unit at a discounted price. NOTE: While I can’t speak for all the other reviews, I can say that if you pay your rent on time, treat management with respect, and care for your unit as if you owned it, you will not have any issues at the Apex (or anywhere else for that matter)."
