"Been living for over 3 years been issue after issue with my townhouse, rent has increased year over year. My front closet hasn’t been able to close for 2 years until they fixed it, my dishwasher hasn’t worked properly since I moved in 2021 and I really appreciate the maintenance they do everything I’ve ever asked it’s the management company that’s extremely cheap. One plug in my room has never worked even though it’s minute frustrating to have to buy an extension cord when there’s a plug right next to my bed. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place until a complete remodel is done."
"They do not respect unsubscribe requests. I unsubscribed 3 months ago and I am still getting lost dog, pet waste pick-up, missing cat, Taylor homes advertisements, office hours, community clean up emails. The emails come every day or so and then come in clusters on that day. The mail boxes slam in the wind, the walls are paper thin, and you can hear the neighbors fighting. The place I leased stinks of cigarette and weed smoke. Edit: I will not contact them or give a real name in fear of reprisal."
"If I could give a 0 I would. The new management basically tries to put Band-Aids on bullet wounds. Maintenance basically lived at my apartment when I was a tenant due to how many problems I faced. I found droppings under my sink and when I called to inform them of the rat droppings I saw, I was told that they were most likely "mouse droppings, not rat droppings" like that makes it any better. I travel a lot, so I only spent 3-4 days here a week and kept my space very tidy only to find roaches in my apartment. The kitchen sink flooded my kitchen more times than I could count and I was gaslighted by maintenance because they did not see the problem which ultimately led to my kitchen cabinets being removed and the entire kitchen floor having to be torn up and replaced so they could fix the pipes. And when they finished, they did not reattach a component of the garbage disposal, so water began leaking AGAIN. (Let me not forget to mention that since the sewer lines are connected, my upstairs neighbors food waste from their garbage disposal was backing up into my sink). I had problems with the floor board heating being super dirty upon my arrival. There was a smell in the apartment that remained for the entire leasing year that I just could not be rid of no matter how much deep cleaning I did. They waited until THE DAY I moved in to repaint the bath tub and when I arrived I was told I was not able to use the shower for 48 hours (which was super inconvenient being a young woman during that time of the month especially because the move in date was solidified well in advance). I could not even stay in the apartment that night because the fumes from the paint were so strong. The amount of ginormous spiders I saw in my apartment was absolutely insane. One of my neighbors told me that she got ringworm from washing her clothes in the laundry facilities, so I never once used them. The last week living here, my car was broken into while parked in the parking lot. Overall, my time here was so horrendous that I moved back to Columbus OH because my mental health was deteriorating from living in these apartments. I would not want my worst enemy living under these conditions."
"This is my boyfriend and I’s first apartment and overall we enjoy it! Given we’ve only been here about 1-2 months now, the neighbors seem friendly and haven’t bumped into much trouble. When we did need a maintenance request done, they were very patient and accommodating to my request of someone being home when maintenance is there on a specific work schedule. I think it was Justin, he did an amazing job fixing the issues and didn’t just “use putty and paint”, though I can see where that could’ve taken place prior to us moving in like around the tub. I have noticed the absolute slightest mold, underneath the window frame in the shower, and air that flows out and it moves, of behind the fake tile which concerns if there could be mold behind it But overall for two college students who make not a lot- this place is really great. Sure there’s some bad reviews but given if they’re over a year old I wouldn’t fully listen. I recommend at least looking here if you’re on a budget:)"
"I really love Avalon it’s a great price/quality ratio. Honestly when moving in I was like “what’s the catch” and I think it’s they are cheap in ways that don’t reduce quality of life. Like the closet door the knob kept pulling through because the wood is thin panels but maintenance came and added a washer so it wouldn’t get ripped through. But keep the price in check for what matters heating plumbing electric appliances pest control etc. I genuinely feel safe at night walking around. The office is kind and informative and has very big “if you respect us we’ll respect you” vibes. They give time to fix issues that arise and treat us like people who make mistakes with human standards. I had mice once the apartment above me moved out and they did pest control free and without judgment. And on a routine basis until we were confident it was clear. Recently we got a random inspection and honestly my house was untidy (junk laying out, clean laundry waiting to be folded etc) but not unclean (food dirt trash etc) and they didn’t care. they also had the approach “if things are wrong *and* you don’t fix them when we point them out then you may be evicted cause we can’t have the apartment destroyed” not “your apartment must be pristine or you’ll be evicted” which is so relieving. I’ve also never had to pay anything for any of the maintenance they’ve done. They also have 5 day slack on their app for rent before late fees which makes me feel like they have room for forgetting on the first like humans sometimes do. I really love these apartments and recommend them. I see kids playing dogs walking/training neighbors chatting fun personalized porches people in hijabs and rainbow flags. It’s a very nice neighborhood for a great cost that makes me feel safe and like my differences don’t change my safety."
