Ivy Manor Apartments

"The management and maintenance were extremely respectful but the owner was another story. When we first moved in the screen door wouldn’t latch, there were scrapes across the kitchen ceiling(these were never fixed) , mold in the bathroom along the tub and window, and dips in our floor. The whole tub had to be replaced when we first moved in because it would leak into the downstairs neighbors apartment. When they replaced the tub they left holes in it between the tiles that would trap water and just looked so trashed. They never fixed the squishy floor in the bathroom or the water damage under the flooring because of the tub. The vent next to our stove didn’t work for the longest time because of the fan inside of it (this was also brought up when we first moved it) The screen door was replaced a few months later after the wind finally caught it and snapped in in half. They repainted over the mold with some mold stuff to seal it. Our heat went out in December and they were nice enough to loan us heaters while they fixed it! Our ceiling fan had been hanging partly off the ceiling since we moved in and a week before we moved out of fell out of the ceiling. Not everything was bad and maintenance tried their hardest but the ending was just not the greatest. The neighbors were pretty great, other than occasionally breaking the shared washer which caused us to not be able to do our laundry after it had a “maintenance “ tag on it for over a week from the company that runs them! When we moved out we paid $469 to break our lease early due to finding better. When we moved out we signed a move out agreement and check list none of which stated they would take our deposit. We left the apartment in better condition than it was when we got it alongside getting the carpets professionally touched up per the moveout agreement. We paid a pretty hefty sized deposit and were told we would get it back thirty days after we moved out and we’re told to email them a forwarded address. We waited a week after the 30th and still received nothing. When I called them they suddenly said “oh no you forfeited it” never once did we agree to this or signed anything stating that. The management and maintenance were amazing but the owner is definitely another story. We definitely won’t be renting here again due to being lied to and mislead and we don’t recommend! We’re just upset because we expected so much better from them than this! Picture of the tiny holes all over our bathroom that they didn’t properly seal for reference."

"You can hear through the ceilings and across the hall but everyplace i've lived that is a problem and its not as bad here as a prior place I was at. but that is expected. When I first moved in the windows leaked and all the outlets needed replaced but maintenance here has always been responsive and fixes whatever needs fixed in a reasonable way. I got a replaced air conditioner with no arguing though I did have to argue to get the fridge replaced when the condenser failed but I did get one. No bedbugs, but there use to be a ton of spiders, they died off after awhile though not sure why. On a rare occasion a ton of ants come up into the bathroom from under the floor. The heat/water/sewer/trash is free/factored into the rent. I like that there is assigned parking, so I never have to hunt and parking spot is also near your unit. if u had a security alarm not worth much if its too far away to hear or to know its yours. I've never had my car broken into despite forgetting to lock my car door occasionally. basically when I pop the trunk to get groceries out I neglect to go back to lock the drivers door but else I do. :P maybe it being an old modell with nothing of value in it helps. I do hear sirens al the time but think its firedepartment more than cops. I never feel unsafe anywhere around here. use to walk and jog up and down all the sidewalks for miles in all directions. a savealot/family dollar, and some restaraunts are within walking distance. including pizza donnuts and icecream. the rent has gone up way too high way too fast since 2020 but looks like everyone is doing the same thing. everytime I check rates seems all other places are same. everyone raises rates the same. hard to justify leaving when it feels apartment renting doesn't have competition in any kind of sense. afraid to find out what 2024 rent will be."

"I love it here! The staff is great, and maintenance are always on top of things! Its so quiet here as well. Our space was freshly cleaned when we moved in and very nice! And I just love how big my kitchen is. I’m happy to call this place my home for now, and I plan on staying, highly recommend!❤️"

"Good apartments! Nothing fancy, you're getting what you pay for, but they're nice. Been living here for almost 2 years and have had very few complaints with the complex, and what few complaintsI did have were taken care of promptly by maintenance. The landlady has been nice and I personally haven't had any mold or pest problems. Would definitely recommend to someone who wants a decent but cheap place."

"High levels of mold in HVAC system caused me to become incredibly ill with severe respiratory conditions and had to go to the hospital multiple times and undergo expensive and unpleasant testing, and my pets died from respiratory failure around the same time I became incredibly ill as well. Ivy Manor hired air quality testers and those reports showed high concentrations of multiple forms of mold even compared to outside levels. Only positive thing was that we were let out of our lease early after an incredibly horrible experience."
