"Love a company that employs drivers that feel comfortable cutting off cars in the rain on a busy road. Definitely shows confidence."
"Worst experience in a rental I've ever had. Maintenance is slow or nonexistent. Electricity doesn't work (replace lightbulbs every 2 weeks and still only come on 50% of the time. Neighbor threatened to slash my dad's truck tires and did slash my friend's tires. Police warned him but first Troy decided to do nothing about it. When you move out, they make you get and pay for professional carpet cleaning and then still charge you for professional carpet cleaning after the fact. The office is completely unprofessional and driven only by money. Btw there are no deadbolt locks on any of their exterior doors (which is a law for rental properties in the state of Ohio) so if anyone wants to break in, all they need is a credit card. This business is a joke and should be run out of town by the time people of Troy."
"The fact that they have any positive reviews is very surprising to me. There is a reason they have earned such a low score. I have contacted HUD on them. People don't do that because they were treated fairly. Now the government will decide. I took photos and videos to backup my case I recommend you do the same. If you notice every bad review is the tenants fault according to the owner. Maybe he needs to put on his big boy pants. Stop blaming other people and take some responsibility."
"My husband and I absolutely loved living in our double with First Troy Corp. I NEVER had to wait long on repairs to be done. My washer went out and David was there the same day with a new washer for me! We lived in a two story for awhile, until my husbands health prevented him from going upstairs to bed. He had us in a one story in a month!!! I would recommend First Troy Corp to anyone looking for a nice place to live. Their whole family are the nicest people! I would definitely rent from them again, if we ever moved back to Troy."
"Renting from First Troy was undoubtedly my single worst rental experience. Avoid at all costs. We were three days late notifying of out intent to vacate the unit the month before our lease ended. Management said they renewed our lease for an entire year and we would be responsible for rent and utilities for the remainder of the new lease until the unit was re-rented. I pleaded and begged for them to have mercy and was told that the best they could do was accept a single payment of $6,443 by the end of that month. We had already signed a new lease out of town for a new job and I could not pay the $6,443 in such a short amount of time. Se we were forced to continue paying rent and utilities at the unit that we were no longer living in. I continued to pay rent and utilities on the unit until I was sent a cleaning bill and statement saying that they had taken our entire security deposit as a "re-rental" fee. Around this time the "For Rent" sign was removed from our lawn and the listing was removed from the website, even before the unit had been re-rented. The cleaning fees were outrageous and included ridiculous charges such as $50 for a smudge on a kitchen cabinet and another $50 for cleaning flecks of dust from a window blind. They claimed I installed incorrect drip pans on the stove top. I sent an email with pictures showing the newly installed drip pans lying perfectly flat. I received no response. They did not return the brand new supposedly "incorrect" drip pans to me. Paying rent and utilities for two apartments with a single income proved difficult and when I was late with a payment I was sent a notice stating that they had reported me to the credit bureaus and threatened to sue if full payment was not received within 10 days. My story is hardly unique. I have read many similar reviews from other renters at other First Troy properties. Management actively has these reviews wiped and you can't even leave a review on their Facebook anymore. AVOID AT ALL COSTS."
