"I can firmly say that this is a good place to live. As a young adult, the surrounding area has everything that a person could want or need. The shared facilities (gym/pool/grounds) are always clean and well maintained. I have had many maintenance requests and all of them have been fulfilled within a day or two without question. I should have expected this, as I always received a response quickly during the application process. Parking has never been an issue, the leasing agent (Vicki) is an angel, and everything is updated without being unnecessarily expensive or complex."
"Very comfortable living at the Lakes I’ve lived here for 14+ years and plan on many more I feel very safe here I would suggest that we start receiving our own separate water bills. Plus for long term residents please keep the rent down."
"I signed my lease in 2021 and did not tour before moving in since I lived out of state at the time, but when I saw it for the first time in person, I was very impressed with how clean everything was and how well taken care of the complex was. Upon arrival, I met with the leasing manager at the time, who was different than the manager I signed my lease with a couple of months prior. She was amazing and stayed there for the duration of that lease. If I had any complaints, she was on it very quickly. When my lease was a couple of months away from ending, I received a letter on my door giving me all of my options on if I wanted to renew my lease, switch it to monthly leasing instead of yearly, or if I wanted to move out (including all of the procedures on moving out that they required). I chose to renew my lease in 2022 for another year. A few months into this lease, the complex switched managers again to someone named Del and this is where it went downhill. When I had a maintenance issue, I went on the website and put a ticket in, while also emailing the leasing office to let them know my situation and that I was looking to get a repair done. My email went unanswered for weeks and I figured they were busy because its a complex with many people. I had to call many times for them to come out and fix something that took less than 15 minutes. Fast forwarding a few months, the leasing manager called my mother, who is on the lease as a guarantor (since I was a full-time college student/full-time employee), and told her about a complaint that I had received, even though she lives 11 hours away. I then got a note on my door saying they were going to conduct a random inspection, which happened to fall on my birthday and I wanted to be there for the inspection since I have a dog, and did not want him to freak out. I called and left a voicemail and asked to reschedule and explained why. The note said there would be a fee for rescheduling, but that was fine with me. I never received an email or phone call regarding this “inspection” after that voicemail. Over one month before my current lease ended, I emailed the leasing manager, Del, and asked for the move-out cleaning checklist so I could prepare since I would not be living there for the last month of my lease. I also asked about how/when I should be shutting off the utilities since they knew I was not going to be living there. This went unanswered for over two weeks. I decided to do as much cleaning as possible and moved my stuff out, then decided to shut my utilities off two weeks before my lease ended. Del reached out to me and told me that I would be fully responsible for all of my utilities until the last day of my lease, and that the email she never responded to regarding move-out was actually sent to my mother, who again, does NOT live in the apartment or live anywhere close to it, and does not check her email on a regular basis. I went back and forth with Del over email and she was not sincere about anything and did not seem to care about me as a tenant. I would not recommend to live here unless you’re prepared for weeks of waiting on a maintenance request, outdated appliances, leasing managers switching frequently, insect issues, windows are so thin that in the winter with the heat on, the bedroom will still be cold, rent to increase by over $100+ each year, etc. I have been moved out for 2 weeks and have not heard anything from them regarding my deposit. Be prepared to live here!"
"It’s was beautiful to to live here and the lake was gorgeous but, when we moved in the place was not finished and they had to paint, fix the door handles and actually attach the knobs onto the cabinets. The stove was ripped up and a week later the washer gave out. I had to chase a man down who was in a golf cart to just come look at it bc the office would not answer. It was a beautiful place but in the beginning the management was very poor. The pictures are what I saw after receiving the keys to go into our first apartment together."
"Vicki was so pleasant when we first arrived to get our keys for the new apartment. She gave us all the information we’d need to know for the complex and move. The unit was in great condition when we got in, with only a few minor issues. We were unfortunately given the wrong set of keys, but we gave the after hours maintenance number a call and Del was able to come and give us the correct keys. Overall it has been a really good move in experience."
