"My daughter had her birthday party here. When we showed up the owner was getting a manicure and the room was being occupied by another party at our setup time. Owner absolutely did not care and was chuckling while pampering herself instead of taking care of the ones who were paying guests. Miserable experience. Would under no circumstances recommend."
"I’m not one to ever leave a bad review or even make a complaint about anything, but this experience was one of the unprofessional encounters I’ve ever had. I booked my daughter’s 4th birthday party here in November from 12-3. I was given permission to show up at 11:30 to put up balloons in the party room. I hired a friend to set up my balloons, and when she arrived, she was told she couldn’t enter the party room because there was a party before mine that showed up late and the owner had allotted that party extra time. Wow! For one- if any party shows up late, I would never think in a million years that they would simply be allowed to keep their party going past the designated time. I had my husband speak with the owner, Julie, about how we paid for a specific time and our friends and family were arriving at the time designated on our invitations and we had other birthday plans directly following our party. When Julie was approached, she was sitting carelessly in a chair getting a manicure and seemed really frustrated with us for being upset that we weren’t allowed to start setting up. We were finally allowed in the party room after a very uncomfortable conversation. Upon arrival, the party room was infested with fruit flies. We have plenty of photos & video evidence. It was beyond unsanitary but nothing we could have done at the time- the party was already starting. I had 10 girls in total, and since the space is so small, the parents had no where to sit or hang out and I let them know they could head out and pick up their girls after the party in 2 hours. I was one of the only adults trying to manage 10 girls between the ages of 4-11. The party was fine, but when I left I decided not to leave my usual 25% tip based on the condition of the party room and the rudeness of the owner. I thought about leaving a review after the party, but I didn’t because as I mentioned- I’m not one to do that. However, this is where the encounter really gets unprofessional. Julie the owner, several weeks after this party, decided to show up to my husbands business & demand to speak with him. When she was told he was unavailable, she shouted to let him know that my husband “ruined her business” and stormed out, also saying rude things on her way out to other employees. My husband wasn’t even present for the entire party. He left 5 minutes in because it was a girls party. The situation was so bizarre that I took it upon myself to professionally call Julie to ask why she thought we had “ruined her business” and she told me that we left her kitchen a mess, broke a bowl, the kids knocked over a chair and thought the girls were disrespectful. To touch on that, I left the kitchen spotless minus her infestation of fruit flies. My daughter had accidentally tipped over in one of the stools, she’s 4- it was an accident. I had no idea one of the manicure bowls broke, it was never brought to my attention. Again, I was trying to run a party with 10 toddlers basically by myself since there isn’t space for parents and also- it’s a spa designed for children, accidents happen. We would have gladly reimbursed her for dish on the spot if it was brought to our attention at the time of the party but nothing was said to us. She instead decided to wait 2 months and come into our own personal business just to confront my husband in person and yell profanities at my husband’s staff! This is so incredibly unprofessional and wildly inappropriate. It sounds like the owner is in need of mental health services to do something like this. She also tried to mention to me on the phone that our balloon artist said “we left it a mess” when she returned to get her equipment, but we absolutely did not and asked her ourselves what happened. She also confirmed the owner is unprofessional. We do not recommend and will not be returning."
"Had a wonderful experience with my 2 granddaughters. Celebrating her bday. Mani/pedi/facials. Huge smile all around."
"If you are looking for a great idea for a birthday party for a smaller group of kids, this was a great option! Hands down, it is a great CLEAN location to pamper your young ones. The staff was great. So knowledgeable about their products and very nice to the kids. They were very friendly and accommodating to all our girls (we had a party of 6 girls). They definitely got a spa treatment from Lolajoy’s. This is the same location as Nicolas John’s Salon and it is a female geared location but let me tell you, after what my daughter was pampered with, her dad (me) would go himself for his own pampering session next time! The party room will hold about 10 kids max. Parents will be standing, but again, it’s worth it. The vibe here was very chill and calming. As you walk in, your hit with the relaxing fragrances of a spa/salon and you will be hooked by the decor, scenery and staff. Price wise, I believe most of what’s available is very on point. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a smaller party, a gift for their child or just want a different option that’s affordable for a kid spa day. This spa can host adults as well but the other side (Nicolas) is more geared up for the adult. Thanks for a great time!!"
